For more information, visit www.gf.com.\nIntroduction: We’re looking for a senior technical leader to drive both post-silicon validation (AVV) and RTOS SDK development for our next-gen RISC-V-based automotive real-time MCUs. You'll lead the software team responsible for validating first silicon and developing production-grade SDKs that enable real-world applications like EV control, ADAS, and safety-critical domain computing.\nThis is an exciting opportunity\nTo shape both software and silicon validation for safety-critical automotive MCUs.\n\nWork at the intersection of hardware, software, and functional safety, influencing product and platform strategy.\n\nExposure to real-world use cases in EVs, ADAS, powertrain, and domain controllers.\n\nOur aim is to build software components that not only allow our IP systems, SOC solutions to be well tested but also provide our customers and partners with a robust repository of software to kick start their assimilation of MIPS IP and SOC, allowing them to obtain the highest performance from hardware and software synergy.\nIf you are an innovative problem solver with a deep passion for embedded software and compute technologies, and love building things from the grounds up, we want to hear from you!\nAs our mission goes, we are committed to offering “Freedom to Innovate Compute” - Join us in this mission to accelerate your impact to the larger industry and hence your growth\nOur Key Differentiators\nOur RISC-V MCUs are designed with groundbreaking features:\nCustom Instructions: Optimized math-intensive operations to accelerate motor control algorithms.\n\nMIPS Real-Time Hardware Multithreading: Enable faster and more efficient execution of motor control-related tasks by minimizing context-switching overhead.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nTeam Leadership\nBuild and lead a 10+ member cross-functional embedded software team.\n\nDefine execution plans, schedules, and quality metrics across SDK and AVV.\n\nMentor team members; provide guidance on technical challenges and project delivery.\n\nRTOS SDK Development\nOwn the architecture and delivery of the RTOS SDK (FreeRTOS, other), including BSPs, HALs, low-level drivers, and middleware.\n\nEnsure modular, scalable SDK structure supporting AUTOSAR and non-AUTOSAR stacks.\n\nDeliver example applications and customer reference packages.\n\nDrive code reuse across internal validation and customer deliverables.\n\nPost-Silicon AVV\nDefine and execute software-centric AVV strategy for post-silicon validation.\n\nValidate key subsystems: ADCs, PWMs, Ethernet, timers, watchdogs, CAN, LIN, FlexRay, etc.\n\nLead first-silicon bring-up, in-depth debugging, and regression testing.\n\nImplement AVV use cases covering functional, real-time, and safety behaviours.\n\nEnsure ASIL-D level functional safety validation, using SIL, HIL, and fault injection.\n\nBuild automation infrastructure supporting lab validation and CI pipelines.\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with system architects, hardware, and safety teams.\n\nProvide feedback to hardware design and influence next-gen RISC-V CPU and SoC features.\n\nInteract with internal and external stakeholders to align roadmaps and execution.\n\nCustomer & Ecosystem Engagement\nCollaborate with OEM/Tier-1 customers on integration, onboarding, and SDK adoption.\n\nContribute to the RISC-V open-source ecosystem, including toolchain, RTOS, and libraries\n\nIdeally, you’ll have:\nBachelor’s or Master’s in Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.\n\n10+ years of experience in embedded software development and/or post-silicon validation, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.\n\nProven expertise in RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr, AUTOSAR OS), device drivers, and real-time control systems.\n\nHands-on experience with bring-up, experience with debugging tools (OpenOCD, Segger J-Link, Lauterbach), and validation of complex SoC/MCU peripherals and safety features.\n\nStrong knowledge of automotive communication protocols: CAN, LIN, FlexRay, UART, SPI, I2C.\n\nSolid scripting and automation experience (Python, Bash, etc.) and familiarity with CI/CD tools.5+ years of practical experience in embedded software development/debug.\n\nYou might also have:\nExperience with ASIL-D safety-compliant software, ISO 26262 software V-model, and generating safety work products.\n\nPrior experience delivering SDKs for Tier-1s or OEMs, especially in motor control, powertrain, or chassis applications.\n\nKnowledge of bootloaders, firmware update mechanisms, and secure embedded software practices.\n\nFamiliarity with RISC-V ISA.
