As an intern at GF, you’ll experience one-on-one mentorship, work assignments that prioritize your growth and potential, professional development opportunities, and the chance to network with executives.\nSummary of Role:\nThe Software Engineering Intern, Cloud Platform will help build key functionality for GlobalFoundries’ next-generation Customer Engagement Portal. The role supports full-stack web application development across user interfaces, backend APIs, database design, authentication, real-time collaboration, visualization, simulation integration, performance dashboards, and internal-customer workflows.\nEssential Responsibilities include:\nDevelop frontend functionality and interactive design-visualization interfaces. \nSupport backend API development and relevant frameworks in cloud and containerized environments. \nUse performance-monitoring tools and user feedback to analyze and optimize application performance and user experience. \nParticipate in code reviews for frontend and backend contributions. \nCollaborate with hardware validation and design teams to improve the next silicon-validation platform and provide input on architectural decisions based on user needs. \nMaintain documentation and reference implementations used by internal customers. \nSupport platform API releases and help customers integrate validation workflows for evaluation and development. \nOther Responsibilities:\nPerform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs. \nRequired Qualifications:\nEducation - At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship. \nMust have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing. \nLanguage Fluency - English (Written & Verbal) \nAbility to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship. \nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrior related internship or co-op experience \nDemonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc. \nStrong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making. \nProject management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity. \nStrong written and verbal communication skills \nStrong planning & organizational skills \nExperience with real-time applications, such as WebSockets, real-time collaboration, or streaming data. \nExperience with full-stack web development, cloud platforms, containerized environments, APIs, databases, authentication, or visualization tools. \n#InternshipProgramUS\nExpected Salary Range\n$20.00 - $40.00\nExpected Salary Range\n$0.00 - $0.00The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.\nIf you need a reasonable accommodation for any part of the employment process, please contact us by email at  let us know the nature of your request and your contact information.
