As an intern at GF, you’ll experience one-on-one mentorship, work assignments that prioritize your growth and potential, professional development opportunities, and the chance to network with executives. \nSummary of Role:\nThe Software Engineering Intern will contribute to an innovative software performance-tuning application for MIPS RISC-V microprocessors. This role provides hands-on experience with application development, simulation and modeling concepts, developer tools, performance analysis, testing, and customer-focused software workflows. \nEssential Responsibilities include:\nContribute to well-scoped software features, prototypes, tests, automation, and tooling improvements under the guidance of experienced engineers. \nLearn how the application supports software performance tuning for MIPS RISC-V microprocessors, including front-end workflows, back-end simulation concepts, and data visualization. \nAssist with debugging, testing, documentation, and enhancements that improve product quality, usability, and developer productivity. \nParticipate in code reviews, design discussions, team meetings, and technical demonstrations, and present project progress and outcomes to mentors and team members. \nOther Responsibilities:\nPerform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs. \nRequired Qualifications:\nEducation - At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship. \nMust have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing. \nLanguage Fluency - English (Written & Verbal) \nAbility to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship. \nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrior related internship or co-op experience \nDemonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc. \nStrong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making. \nProject management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity. \nStrong written and verbal communication skills \nStrong planning & organizational skills \nStrong programming fundamentals developed through coursework, labs, personal projects, open-source contributions, internships, or research. \nInterest in developer tools, application frameworks, data visualization, computer architecture, RISC-V, simulation, performance tuning, compilers, operating systems, or low-level software systems. \n#InternshipProgramUS\nExpected Salary Range\n$20.00 - $40.00\nExpected Salary Range\n$0.00 - $0.00The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.\nIf you need a reasonable accommodation for any part of the employment process, please contact us by email at  let us know the nature of your request and your contact information.
