For more information, visit www.gf.com.\nIntroduction:\nWe are seeking a highly skilled Principal STA Engineer to serve as the technical authority for signoff timing convergence within our Physical Design organization. This role requires deep expertise in STA, strong hands-on execution, and the ability to define and drive shift-left signoff strategies. You will collaborate closely across teams on constraints, optimization, and timing analysis to ensure predictable, high-quality SoC closure.\nWhat You’ll Do\nOwn SoC-level signoff STA, including timing ECO delivery and GLS enablement.\n\nDrive robust co-optimization strategies to achieve benchmark PPAS targets.\n\nDevelop and maintain PPAS/status dashboards using scripting automation.\n\nCollaborate with RTL Design, Verification, Physical Design, and DFT teams to ensure design convergence and consistent signoff.\n\nRationalize timing margins with minimal supervision.\n\nAnalyze design metrics and collateral to propose data-driven process improvements.\n\nApply reuse methodologies for IP, libraries, and flows to accelerate execution.\n\nAutomate and enhance STA flows using TCL, Python, or Perl to improve productivity and repeatability.\n\nOther Responsibilities\nPerform all duties in a safe, responsible manner while supporting all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHSS) programs.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.\n\n12+ years of hands-on STA experience, shift left strategies for predictable signoff.\n\nAbility to define, implement, and mature tools and methodologies starting from a blank slate.\n\nAdept in SoC level MCMM STA, generation of physically aware ECO generation, supporting GLS etc\n\nFamiliarity with advanced process nodes, DFT timing modes and analysis, and IP integration.\n\nStrong scripting experience (TCL, Python, Perl) for flow automation and debugging.\n\nStrong analytical mindset with excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience delivering custom silicon for automotive, HPC, or AI applications.\n\nProactive adoption of new tools, flows, and design-reuse best practices.\n\nHighly detail-oriented, quality-focused, and committed to on-time delivery.\n\nGlobalFoundries is an equal opportunity employer, cultivating a diverse and inclusive workforce.
