The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in AWS cloud architecture, microservices, API management, and large-scale legacy transformation, with a strong background in financial services, tax, or regulated industries. This is a remote role, but candidates must be located in the Central Time Zone to align with core collaboration hours and stakeholder meetings.\nYOU’LL GET THE CHANCE TO:\nDefine and drive enterprise architecture strategy and roadmap for Tax technology platforms.\nLead design and delivery of cloud-native, microservices-based solutions primarily on AWS (with potential multi-cloud exposure to Azure/GCP).\nArchitect and govern API ecosystems, including performance, security, and integration with internal/external services.\nModernize legacy systems (mainframe, monoliths) to scalable, cloud-first architectures with minimal business disruption.\nPartner with business, product, and engineering leaders to translate tax and regulatory requirements into technical solutions.\nEstablish architecture standards, patterns, and best practices across development teams.\nMentor senior engineers and architects on AWS cloud adoption, integration frameworks, and modern development practices.\nOversee non-functional requirements: scalability, resilience, security, observability, and cost optimization.\nWHAT WILL HELP YOU SUCCEED:\n15+ years of overall IT experience, with 5+ years in Enterprise or Solution Architecture roles.\n Must hold an active AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification (Associate or Professional; Professional strongly preferred).\nProven experience designing and delivering large-scale cloud transformations on AWS.\nDeep expertise in:Microservices, event-driven architectures\n API management (AWS API Gateway)\n Integration patterns (Kafka, AWS SQS, RabbitMQ)\nServerless: Lambda and Step Functions\n Modern backend stacks: .NET (8+), Python\nData Engineering: AWS Glue, Redshift, S3\n Front-end frameworks: React, Angular (preferred)\nDatabases: PostgreSQL, Aurora, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Vector DBs\nDevOps & Cloud Ops: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Git, Terraform, CloudFormation\n\nStrong background in financial services, tax, retirement, 401(k), wealth management, or insurance domains.\nExperience leading global, cross-functional teams and working with senior stakeholders.\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for business audiences.\n AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional (or working toward it).\nAdditional certifications such as:Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert\nSAFe Agilist or similar agile leadership certification\n\nExperience with GenAI / LLM integrations (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, LangChain, AWS Bedrock) in enterprise contexts.\nPrior consulting experience, ideally within a similar professional services environment.\nLocation: Remote (U.S.) - Must work from Central Time Zone\nSalary: 150k - 180k\nWe are interested in hard-working, fast-learning talents and we have the know-how and scale to help you make your own career path.
