Join us!\nPosition Summary\nThe Associate Software Engineer develops high-quality software for Globus Medical products. The engineer works with product and clinical teams to understand user needs and contributes throughout the software development lifecycle, from design and implementation through testing and release.\nThe successful candidate will bring strength in at least one area of software development and enough breadth to work effectively with adjacent parts of the product. Depending on the team, this may include applications, user interfaces, services, data, algorithms, devices, or firmware. The engineer is not expected to be an expert in every area.\nThe scope and autonomy of the position will be calibrated to the selected career level.\nResponsibilities\nThe responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:\nTranslate clinical, user, and product needs into clear software behavior, designs, interfaces, and verification approaches.\nDesign, implement, debug, and test production-quality software using established engineering practices.\nDevelop prototypes and proofs of concept when needed to evaluate product or technical ideas.\nIntegrate software with adjacent components and systems relevant to the assigned product area.\nParticipate in design reviews, code reviews, testing, and release activities.\nContribute to required medical-device software documentation and follow applicable quality and cybersecurity processes.\nCollaborate with clinical, product, systems, UX, quality, and other engineering specialists as needed.\nCommunicate technical decisions, progress, and risks clearly.\nProvide technical guidance or mentoring appropriate to the selected career level.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or another technical field. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.\nExperience designing, implementing, debugging, and testing software in at least one language appropriate to the product.\nExperience using AI-assisted development tools to support software design, implementation, testing, debugging, or documentation, while independently validating outputs and following applicable security and confidentiality requirements.\nWorking knowledge of software design, source control, code review, and automated testing.\nAbility to solve technical problems and learn unfamiliar parts of a software system.\nAbility to work effectively with cross-functional teams.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience developing software for medical devices, robotics, navigation, imaging, surgical systems, or another regulated or safety-critical industry.\nExperience with one or more technologies selected for the position.\nExperience with relevant application, UI, service, data, algorithm, device, firmware, or test technologies.\nFamiliarity with medical-device software development, design controls, or risk management.\nExperience working directly with clinical users, customers, service teams, or other end users.\nExperience providing technical leadership or mentoring appropriate to the selected career level.\nWorking Expectations\nAbility to travel up to 10%of the time.\nAbility to attend laboratory sessions, surgeries, customer observations, or field activities as required by the product area.\nCompliance and Professional Conduct\nAdhere to the letter and spirit of the Globus Medical Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
