Join us!\nPosition Summary\nThe Staff Software Engineer will be a lead for a surgical robotic platform software development team. This person needs to have strong technical skills as the position will be hands-on. This individual must be capable of creative and systematic product development with minimum supervision. The job requires the individual to be a team player with the ability to function well in a challenging and fast paced environment. Must be enthusiastic, positive, even tempered and have strong skills in areas of dependability, interpersonal relationships, flexibility and professionalism. The position is on-site, not remote.\nResponsibilities\nThe responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:\nLead design, testing and documentation of robotic platform with cross-disciplinary teams.\nDevelop prototypes, proofs of concept in addition to production-quality solutions.\nCarry-out investigations and root cause analysis for troubleshooting\nEnsure efficient performance and scalability of solutions.\nProvide guidance and oversight for other software engineers on the team\nDemonstrate a passion for software development, software craftsmanship, and test-driven development.\nMaintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or another technical field. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.\n10+ years of professional programming experience· \nExperience developing motion control software·\nExperience developing haptic control software· \nExperience with kinematics· \nExperience with real-time or close-to-real-time systems· \nExperience with surgical navigation software a plus· \nExperience in object-oriented analysis and design·\nExperience programming in C/C++ required; experience with Rust a plus·\nExperience using AI-assisted development tools a plus· \nExperience developing software tools, utilities, and libraries/components·\nExperience in Medical Device field a plus· \nAbility to work independently and as a key contributor in small teams·\nExcellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills· \nAbility to travel up to 5% of the time\nCompliance and Professional Conduct\nAdhere to the letter and spirit of the Globus Medical Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
