Android Developer

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features by providing thought leadership and mentoring to the practice.
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximise development efficiency.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Identify and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks.
• Maintain code quality, organisation, and automation.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in Android development.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science, or an equivalent, with at least 3 years of experience with a good understanding of Android development.
• Good problem-solving and written and oral communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes.
• Experience with the Android SDK, Java, Kotlin, NDK, and C++.
• Experience with JSON concepts and REST APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
• Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks.
• Familiarity with video and image processing using NDK, native tools, or SDKs.
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and Knowledge of emerging technologies, mobile architectures, trends and landscapes.
• Understanding of Google's Android design principles and interface guidelines.
• Secure in-app purchases.
