Apply today.The Role.\nGMC Utilities Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Engineer to join our Metering Team, supporting the delivery of utility metering projects across Leinster.\nThis is a hands-on project delivery role, combining engineering, coordination, site management and client engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, site teams, utility providers, subcontractors and customers to ensure metering projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards.\nThe role will suit an engineer who enjoys working across both office and site environments and is looking to develop their career within the utilities and infrastructure sector.\nKey Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:\nKey Responsibilities:\nManage and coordinate the engineering and technical aspects of metering projects across Leinster.\nSupport projects from initial planning and design through to installation, commissioning and completion.\nCoordinate with clients, utility companies, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.\nReview drawings, specifications, technical documentation and project requirements.\nCarry out site surveys, inspections and technical assessments as required.\nAssist with the planning and scheduling of site works and installation activities.\nMonitor project progress against programme, budget, quality and technical requirements.\nProvide technical support and guidance to site teams and subcontractors.\nEnsure metering installations are completed in accordance with relevant standards, specifications and client requirements.\nIdentify and resolve technical issues, site constraints and project risks.\nPrepare and maintain project documentation, reports, records and handover information.\nAssist with procurement, material requirements and subcontractor coordination.\nSupport commissioning, testing and final project close-out.\nEnsure all works are carried out in accordance with GMC Utilities Group's health, safety, environmental and quality procedures.\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Metering Team.\nThe Candidate: Required Experience and Competencies:\nDegree in Engineering, Construction, Energy, Utilities or a related discipline.\nPrevious experience in a project engineering, utilities, construction or infrastructure environment.\nStrong organisational and project coordination skills.\nAbility to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.\nGood understanding of health and safety requirements within construction and utility environments.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, subcontractors and site teams.\nGood IT skills, including Microsoft Office.\nFull clean driving licence and willingness to travel to projects throughout Leinster.\nBecome a part of something bigger.\nAt the heart of GMC is our people, from engineers through to customer service and we aim to work collaboratively towards our common goals. \nGMC is an equal opportunity employer, and we aim to recruit and retain like-minded people from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of expertise.
