Our proven track record ensures high-quality, low-risk solutions backed by strong performance ratings and repeat business.\nJob Summary: The Cost Engineer will report to the Chief Cost Estimator and is responsible for working with the Design teams to provide Independent Government Estimates from conceptual design through final design documents. All work will be done in Mii and RS Means estimating software.\nKey Tasks\nReview project plans and specifications.\nUtilize onscreen style take off software to define all work whether shown or intended options.\nWork with design consultants to understand and include MEP systems that will be included and understand ranges of the scopes.\nPrepare project pricing narrative.\nDevelop conceptual budgets from limited information\nReview general conditions, schedules, scopes of work, site logistics, and related exhibits\nTrack and communicate construction and material cost trends\nAnalyze alternate methods and value-engineering options\nBuild strong relationships with clients and design teams.\nPrice change impacts as needed\nEducation and Training Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree or 5-10 years of industry experience.\n3-5 years Mii estimating experience on design projects or Gordian pricing for Job Order Contracts\nMII2 software experience preferred but not required if experience is in RS Means.\n Knowledge, Skill, and Competency Requirements:Proficiency with estimating software (SAGE, RS Means, Bluebeam, ONSCREEN Takeoff)\nStrong math and computer skills; proficient in MS Office\nAbility to understand estimating software and to be able to transition to all online platforms as they develop for use\nStrong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills\nAbility to perform under pressure and meet deadlines\nWillingness to follow corporate policies.\nStrong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to identify discrepancies\nSecurity clearance preferred\nOther:\nU.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.\nValid driver’s license and insurance.\nSome travel will be required to military bases to attend design meetings for design and pricing reviews. Travel will be limited but will be required.
