Working closely with test engineers and design teams, this role ensures gearbox systems are installed, instrumented, and tested accurately and efficiently to meet demanding performance and reliability targets.\nThis position is critical to delivering high-quality test data and maintaining the safe, reliable operation of advanced test facilities.\nKey Responsibilities\nTest Rig Operation\nOperate gearbox and driveline test rigs in accordance with defined test procedures.\nMonitor test parameters including torque, speed, temperature, and pressure.\nSupport execution of durability, performance, and validation test programs.\nIdentify and escalate abnormal behavior or test issues.\n\nBuild, Strip & Preparation\nAssemble and disassemble gearboxes, sub-systems, and test assemblies.\nPrepare units for testing including cleaning, inspection, and measurement.\nInstall and remove components safely and to precise specifications.\nEnsure all builds meet engineering drawings, specifications, and torque settings.\n\nInstrumentation & Setup\nInstall and verify instrumentation such as thermocouples, pressure sensors, and strain gauges (basic support).\nAssist with wiring, routing, and validation of test measurements.\nSupport calibration and validation of sensors and data acquisition systems.\n\nMaintenance & Facility Support\nMaintain test rigs, tooling, and equipment in operational condition.\nPerform routine maintenance and inspections.\nSupport troubleshooting of mechanical and basic electrical issues.\nEnsure compliance with safety procedures and best practices.\n\nData & Documentation\nRecord test data, observations, and issues during test runs.\nSupport engineers in logging results and maintaining accurate records.\nAssist with test reports, build sheets, and inspection documentation.\n\nCollaboration\nWork closely with test engineers, design engineers, operations, and maintenance teams.\nProvide feedback on build quality, recurring issues, and test rig improvements.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nTechnical diploma, apprenticeship, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or Motorsport Engineering.\n2+ years in a hands-on mechanical or test environment (motorsport preferred).\nStrong mechanical assembly and disassembly skills.\nKnowledge of mechanical systems, components, and precision measurement tools (micrometers, gauges, torque wrenches).\nBasic understanding of instrumentation, data acquisition, hydraulic and lubrication systems.\nAbility to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.\nHigh attention to detail and quality workmanship.\nStrong problem-solving ability in a hands-on environment.\nGood communication and teamwork skills.\nAbility to work efficiently under pressure and tight deadlines.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with gearboxes, engines, or rotating machinery.\nExperience in dyno or test cell environments.\n\nWorking Conditions\nFactory-based, workshop and test cell environment.\nHands-on role with exposure to mechanical systems, noise, and machinery.\nShift work, evening, or weekend hours may be required during peak testing periods.\n\nKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)\nTest rig uptime and reliability.\nAccuracy and quality of build/assembly work.\nEfficiency of test setup and turnaround times.\nCompliance with safety and operational procedures.\nContribution to successful test execution.\n\nReady to be part of a team that pushes boundaries both on and off the track?
