This internship provides hands-on experience with supplier quality, process quality, nonconformance management, control planning, inspection, quality data, and continuous improvement. The intern will work under the guidance of experienced quality professionals and collaborate with Procurement, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Additive Manufacturing, Assembly, Metrology, Materials, and other cross-functional teams.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nAssist with day-to-day supplier and process quality activities, quality records, and assigned improvement projects.\nSupport the creation, review, documentation, and follow-up of Supplier Deviation Requests (SDRs) and Nonconformance Reports (NCRs).\nCollect, organize, analyze, and report quality data to support root cause investigations, corrective actions, supplier follow-up, and process improvements.\nAssist Procurement and Quality with prospective supplier evaluation, supplier onboarding documentation, purchase-order quality requirements, and supplier inspection data collection.\nSupport development and revision of control plans and inspection requirements for incoming parts, raw materials, manufacturing operations, assembly processes, and shop orders.\nWork with Manufacturing Engineering, Assembly, Design Engineering, Additive Manufacturing, Metrology, Materials, Incoming Quality, and IT to help coordinate quality requirements and documentation.\nAssist with planning for upcoming builds, shop orders, and part arrivals, including identifying inspection needs, timing, required measurement tools, and quality checks.\nParticipate in supervised inspections and measurements of precision components and help document results in applicable quality systems and records.\nContribute to Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities and the development or revision of audits, procedures, work instructions, and Quality Management System documentation aligned with ISO 9001.\nComplete special projects and other duties as assigned while learning supplier quality, process quality, and high-precision manufacturing practices.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\nCurrently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field.\nInterest in supplier quality, process quality, manufacturing, inspection, metrology, or continuous improvement.\nBasic familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other data collection or analysis tools; exposure to CAD software such as NX or SolidWorks is beneficial.\nCoursework or project experience involving manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, quality systems, statistics, measurement, or problem solving is preferred.\nStrong communication and interpersonal abilities.\nCollaboration: Works effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and other external partners.\nAdaptability: Responds effectively to evolving priorities, business needs, and learning opportunities.\nGrowth mindset and willingness to ask questions, accept feedback, and learn new quality tools and processes.\nAbility to organize and manage multiple assignments with appropriate guidance.\nStrong attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to follow established instructions and procedures.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to stand, walk, and move in diverse operational environments, including race shops, arenas, and commercial facilities. \nComfortable working in variable environmental conditions, including loud, high-traffic, or high-pressure environments.\n\nWhy Join Us: You’ll help support a team developing a next-generation Formula 1 power unit, working alongside professionals who value precision, creativity, and a constant drive to improve.
