For more information, please visitwww.gocardless.com and follow us on LinkedIn@GoCardless.\nMollie is the leading payments and financial services partner for business, rooted in Europe, with global reach.\nThe Role\nAs a Tax Manager you will cover corporation tax, VAT and transfer pricing (routine compliance and advisory work) across a small global group, and you will have scope to improve the systems and processes behind them. You will also support the Head of Tax with advisory work. We expect the split to be roughly 80% BAU compliance, reporting and controls, and 20% advisory and projects. This is a fixed-term position covering a temporary period of leave, with handover provided.\nWhat excites you:\nCompliance and reporting\nManage the group’s global tax compliance, filing and payment obligations: provide financial information to external advisers and review returns before submission.\nHelp prepare and review indirect tax filings, and review related systems and processes, implementing changes that improve efficiency.\nManage US reporting obligations for payment processors (1099-K and other 1099 series), including working with Product on any system changes.\nReview and advise on the application of our transfer pricing policies, including calculations that support adjustments.\nManage the tax aspects of our employee share incentive schemes.\nHelp prepare the tax reporting arising from the Mollie acquisition, including equity and share-scheme reporting.\nAccounting, controls and transfer pricing\nHelp manage the tax risk control framework: review and test controls, and reconcile balances to validate tax filings.\nPrepare tax disclosures for consolidated and entity-level financial statements.\nAdvisory and projects\nSupport the Head of Tax on integration planning and other advisory projects, such as corporate structure reviews, new lines of business, debt and equity funding, overseas expansion, M&A and FATCA.\nAdvise Engineering, Product, Legal and People teams on the tax implications of new products, system developments and payroll matters.\nDocument tax systems and processes to support the integration with Mollie and keep the group well controlled as it evolves.\nWork collaboratively on integration projects with Mollie’s tax team.\nStakeholders\nManage relationships with external tax advisers and preparers.\nHandle enquiries from tax authorities, investors and other stakeholders.\nWhat excites us:\nCTA or ACA qualified, from Big 4, mid-tier or in-house practice, ideally with in-house, financial services or payments experience.\nStrong UK direct and indirect tax expertise.\nA working knowledge of payroll taxes, including benefits and expenses, and awareness of the tax risks around employee share schemes.\nComfortable with tax accounting and preparing tax disclosures.\nExperience turning tax rules into practical, commercial advice. That includes reviewing legal documents, designing processes and suggesting ways to manage tax risk.\nConfident with IT: happy to learn how to query databases and accounting systems, and use automation tools and AI.\nA self-starter who prioritises their own workload, takes ownership, and knows when to ask for help.\nA clear communicator who can explain complex concepts to non-experts, and is robust when needed but collaborative.\nWhat makes you stand out\nTransfer pricing calculations.\nUS federal and state tax reporting.\nExperience in fintech or payments, or in a fast-growing scale-up.\nBase salary range: £64,000 - £96,000 (gross).\nBase salary ranges are based on role, job level, location, and market data. Please note that whilst we strive to offer competitive compensation, our approach is to pay between the minimum and the mid-point of the pay range until performance can be assessed in role.
