Remote: This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.  

About The Team 

The Commerce Site Reliability Engineering team is responsible for the reliability, scalability, and day-to-day operation of the platforms that power GoDaddy's Commerceecosystem.Webuildandoperatesharedinfrastructure,supportcriticalproductionsystems,andpartnercloselywithengineeringteamstoensureservicesremainsecure,resilient,andhighlyavailable.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you'll join a team that values ownership, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Engineers are empowered to identify problems, drive meaningful change, and influence how reliability is delivered across the broader Commerce organisation. From improvingoperationalmaturityandreducingtoiltomodernisingdeliveryplatformsandstrengtheningincidentresponsepractices,thisteamplaysakeyroleinenablingengineeringteamstomovequicklyandsafely.

You'll work closely with engineers across infrastructure, cloud, security, networking, and application teams while helping shapethefutureofreliabilityengineeringatGoDaddy.Thisroleofferssignificantopportunitytobroadenyourimpact,developtechnicalleadershipskills,andgrowtowardStaffandPrincipalengineeringpositionsovertime.

• Owncriticalproductionsystems,driveincidentresponseandpost-incidentimprovements,andcontinuouslyraisethebarforoperationalexcellence.

• Design,build,andenhancecloudinfrastructure,automation,observability,anddeploymentplatformsthatimprovereliability,scalability,anddeveloperproductivity.

• Partnerwithengineering,infrastructure,security,andproductteamstosolvecomplextechnicalchallenges,manageoperationalrisk,andsupportbusiness-criticalservices.

• Useautomation,AI-assistedengineeringtools,anddata-driveninsightstoreduceoperationaltoil,improvediagnostics,andacceleratedelivery.

• Mentorengineers,shareknowledge,andinfluenceengineeringpracticesthatimprovereliabilityacrossthebroaderCommerceorganisation.

• Contributetotheteam'stechnicaldirectionbyidentifyingopportunitiestoimprovesystems,processes,andoperationalmaturity.

Your experience should include...

• Significantexperience 5 years + operating,troubleshooting,andimprovinglarge-scaleproductionsystemsincloud-basedenvironments.

• StrongexpertiseinAWS,Linux,containerplatformssuchasKubernetes,andmoderninfrastructureengineeringpractices.

• ExperiencebuildingandmaintainingInfrastructureasCode,automationsolutions,andCI/CDpipelinesthatimprovereliability,scalability,anddeliveryconfidence.

• Aproventrackrecordofleadingorowningproductionincidents,drivingrootcauseanalysis,andimplementinglong-termreliabilityimprovements.

• StrongsoftwareengineeringorscriptingskillsusinglanguagessuchasPython,Go,TypeScript,orsimilartechnologies.

• Experienceusingobservabilitydata,monitoring,andoperationalmetricstoidentifyissues,improvesystemperformance,andsupportdata-drivendecisionmaking.

• Demonstratedabilitytoindependentlyleadcomplextechnicalinitiatives,managecompetingpriorities,anddeliveroutcomesacrossmultipleteamsorstakeholders.

• Experiencementoringengineers,influencingtechnicaldecisions,andhelpingraiseoperationalandengineeringstandardswithinateam.

• Acontinuousimprovementmindsetwithafocusonautomation,reducingoperationaltoil,andleavingsystemsandprocessesbetterthanyoufoundthem.

• ExperienceusingAI-assistedengineeringtoolstoimproveproductivity,acceleratetroubleshooting,automaterepetitivetasks,andenhanceoperationalworkflows.

• ExperiencewithSaltStack,Ansible,Terraform,Pulumi,CloudFormation,orAWSCDK.

• Experienceoperatingsharedormulti-tenantinfrastructureservicesatscale.

• Experience supportingeCommerce,payments,fintech,orotherhigh-availabilitycustomer-facingplatforms.
• Experience designingobservability,SLO,SLI,oroperationalreadinessframeworks.
• Experience contributingtoarchitecturalstrategyandroadmapplanning.
• Experience leveragingAI-assistedtoolstoimproveengineeringproductivityandoperationaleffectiveness.
