Join us in shaping the future of transformative technology - together.\nGoddard is seeking a highly motived Manager & Principal Electrical Engineer to join the electrical engineering team designing state-of-the-art medical devices and robotic systems. This is a player-coach role, you’ll lead a small team internally while also staying hands-on and driving engineering excellence in your own client work. You’ll be expected to lead by example, uphold our high standards, and continuously refine your skills to deliver outstanding results across all responsibilities. The ideal candidate should possess a broad understanding of the electronic technology landscape and the desire to keep up with the changes in technology. The ability to define the system and hardware architecture for a given system and participate in the definition of the software architecture.\nWhat you will do:\nDesign and develop embedded systems including hardware schematics, PCB layouts, and firmware. \nLead architecture decisions for embedded platforms and ensure scalability and reliability. \nCollaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, software, and systems engineers. \nConduct design reviews, testing, and validation of embedded systems. \nOptimize power consumption, performance, and cost of embedded solutions. \nTroubleshoot and debug hardware and firmware issues. \nStay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices \nLead technical projects from concept to commercialization, including designing, prototyping, testing, and implementing electrical systems. \nCollaborate with external partners, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to ensure successful product development and manufacturing processes. \nCommunicate issues and solutions to both internal and external customers. \nSupport the director and business development in the creation of quotes for new projects. \nWhat you will bring:\nBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field with 10+ years of experience. \nProficiency in PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, OrCAD) and circuit simulation software (e.g., SPICE). \nExperience with microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, STM32, PIC, etc.) \nStrong understanding of digital and analog circuit design. \nFamiliarity with communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet). \nExperience with debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG. \nPrevious experience in product development \nExperience in medical and life sciences with 60601 and/or 61010 or other regulated industry is a plus. \nStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug electronic circuits. \nOur Benefits:\nFlexible Time Off: Benefit from our generous flexible time off policy.
