LOUIS, MO - HQ\nThe Technical Engineering Specialist Powerplant and APU reports directly to the Manager, Technical Engineering. This position provides specialized in-depth knowledge, skill, and experience relating to aircraft powerplants, APUs, and associated alteration, repair, and reliability programs. The Specialist performs daily technical tasks to monitor, assess, and take proactive actions to maintain aircraft systems safely, reliably, and economically. The role liaises directly with OEMs, service providers, and internal departments to develop engineering data, documents, and instructions to support maintenance and repair activities. The Specialist also provides after-hours engineering support to Maintenance Control during AOG situations to maintain fleet dispatch reliability and operational safety.\nQUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:\nRequired:\nU.S. Citizen or have the legal right to accept employment in the United States.\nHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.\nValid driver's license and eligibility to obtain a Secure Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge.\nValid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.\nMinimum three (3) years of experience in powerplant and/or APU engineering or maintenance within a Part 121 air carrier (regional or mainline).\nAbility to analyze Airworthiness Directives and manufacturer's service information.\nVery competent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to read and write fluently in the English language.\nBasic mathematical competency.\nAbility to travel to annual MHIRJ and GE manufacturer technical conferences.\nPreferred:\nGE CF34-8C5 series powerplant and APU knowledge/experience on CRJ aircraft (experience on other aircraft types may be considered).\nDemonstrated ability to prepare technical documents, reports, and briefing materials.\nKnowledge of FAA regulations.\nValid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.\nAbility to prioritize work and coordinate with various groups.\nStrong organizational and time management skills.\nStrong skills with Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat Professional.\nAbility to work independently and in a team environment.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITY:\nAdhere to the Professional Standards as outlined in GMM1 0-1.2.\nPromote safety as the top priority in all aircraft and personnel activities.\nProvide leadership and enforce compliance with FAA, EPA, OSHA, and company policies, procedures, manuals, and regulatory requirements\nGenerate Powerplant/APU Engineering Orders (EOs) to support compliance with Airworthiness Directives (ADs), service bulletins, alterations, repairs, and manufacturer approved parts; coordinate required parts and tooling.\nInterface with OEM engine, APU, and component manufacturers regarding reliability, performance, and product improvements.\nReview Powerplant/APU manufacturer service information (SBs, SLs, etc.) to assess applicability and impact to the GoJet fleet.\nProvide 24/7 engineering support to Maintenance Control, Line Maintenance, and Heavy Check maintenance for troubleshooting powerplant and APU issues.\nOversee the Operator's third- party administration of the Engine Condition Trend.\nMonitoring (ECTM) Program, including:\nReview and analyze trend reports with OEM technical specialists.\nIssue ECTM Alert Notices derived from trend analysis, specifying troubleshooting and corrective actions.\nReview engine oil consumption data.\nCoordinate with Short-Term and Intermediate Planning to ensure engines are removed in accordance with degradation limits.\nProvide oversight and coordination for significant powerplant events such as engine changes and on-wing repairs, including:\nDevelop engine work scopes and coordinate with vendors to ensure compliance.\nObtain all required financial approvals.\nApprove work scopes prior to shipment to approved vendor facilities.\nInteract with Maintenance Programs & Planning to support timely revision and implementation of powerplant- and APU-related maintenance program changes.\nProvide technical input to Maintenance Planning to ensure scheduled powerplant and APU inspections, shop visits, and life-limited part replacements are executed efficiently and in accordance with maintenance program criteria.\nCoordinate powerplant and APU issues with other operational departments (e.g., Flight Operations, Ground Operations).\nSupport aircraft acquisition and lease redelivery activities related to powerplant and APU technical and financial requirements.\nEnsure lease engines meet company standards as defined in the CAMP and GMM.\nMaintain the APR Tracking Log for CF-34 engines in accordance with GMM1 7-11.2.1.\nDevelop changes to MX-043 documents for presentation to the Maintenance Review Board and coordinate IT updates upon approval.\nCreate and maintain drawings within the Technical Engineering Drawing System.\nReview and/or develop Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) as required.\nGenerate Fleet Compliance Documents (FCDs) to support accomplishment of fleet-wide inspections.\nPerform other duties as assigned by the Manager, Technical Engineering.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nWork is primarily performed in an office setting with frequent visits to hangar and flight line environments.\nMay be required to work in areas with moderate noise levels, moving aircraft, and operational equipment.\nOccasional travel is required to support maintenance bases, vendor facilities, and manufacturer technical conferences.\nMust be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods during inspections or meetings.\nMust be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as operational needs require.\nAbout GoJet Airlines:\nGoJet Airlines operates as a regional partner for United Airlines, providing daily flights across the U.S. and Canada.
