We also foster a culture built on high performance, collaboration, continuous improvement, and ongoing professional development.\nSummary:\nThis role will support engineering design and development activities.\nResponsibilities:\nLead and support engineering activities for large-scale product development programs by investigating feasibility, performing design using 3-D modeling software, and conducting layout reviews and 2D drawing creation.\nAnalyze and resolve complex problems independently or with minimal guidance.\nCreate part specifications and BOMs.\nNegotiate with surrounding component business units and suppliers.\nPerform cost analysis, strength calculations, and material selection.\nUse best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products and/or processes.\nIdentify new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology, and reduce design and parts costs.\nTravel to client sites as required.\nQualifications:\nMinimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years of experience designing seats, structural or plastics components, and mechanisms.\nEducation with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing.\nExperience using Catia V5/V6 to create 3D models and 2D drawings is required.\nExperience in the automotive domain designing seats, related structural components, and trims is required.\nProven experience engaging with cross-functional teams, with strong skills in layout negotiation and consensus building.\nStrong understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) is required.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nProficiency in MS Office.\nThe pay range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base pay only.
