You'll own services end-to-end, make architectural decisions that improve platform reliability and performance, and mentor engineers while driving complex technical initiatives. The systems you build directly influence merchant conversions, customer experience, and platform scalability.\nWhat You'll Own\nDesign, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and NestJS, with Go for selected services.\nBuild and optimize distributed systems using PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Kafka.\nOwn event-driven architectures, ensuring high throughput, reliability, fault tolerance, and scalability.\nDrive architectural decisions, document technical trade-offs, and improve system design across services.\nDeliver end-to-end features, contributing to frontend development in React or Svelte where required.\nStrengthen CI/CD pipelines, observability, monitoring, and cloud infrastructure on AWS.\nDebug production issues, improve system performance, and ensure high service reliability.\nReview code, mentor Associate Engineers and SDE I engineers, and elevate engineering standards across the team.\nTake ownership of ambiguous technical problems and independently drive them from design through production deployment.\nWho You Are\nStrong backend engineering experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and NestJS.\nWorking knowledge of Go or the willingness to learn and build production services with it.\nStrong understanding of PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and distributed data systems.\nExperience designing and scaling event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar messaging systems.\nComfortable working across the stack, including frontend technologies such as React or Svelte.\nStrong understanding of scalability, reliability, maintainability, and software architecture principles.\nExperience mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and driving engineering best practices.\nExcellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.\nWhy GoKwik\nAt GoKwik, you'll solve engineering challenges at massive scale while building products that power thousands of merchants and millions of shoppers.
