Commissioned in 2019, Gruyere is one of Australia's largest and lowest-cost gold operations, producing 300,000+ ounces per annum with a production profile of more than 10 years.\nThis is an opportunity to work in a dynamic open pit environment where your technical expertise will directly support safe and efficient mining operations.\nWhy You'll Love Working for Us\nPermanent role with a leading gold producer.\n8 days on / 6 days off roster, FIFO from Perth or DIDO from the Goldfields region.\nQuarterly bonus scheme plus monthly private health insurance allowance.\nIncreased annual leave entitlements, long service leave pro rata after 5 years.\n$10K employee referral bonus.\nSalary sacrifice options and educational assistance.\nWhat You'll Do\nProvide a geotechnical service to the mine, working with business partners to ensure full statutory compliance with mining regulations, legislation and company safety objectives relating to ground control\nUndertake pit wall inspections, mapping, ground control and geotechnical sign-offs.\nComplete structural and kinematic assessments of pit walls.\nAssist with slope stability assessments and geotechnical design reviews.\nMonitor and assess slope movement using radar, prisms, survey, UAV and other monitoring systems.\nCollect and analyse geotechnical data, including the investigation and analysis of rockfall events and ground control issues, and prepare technical memorandums, reports and recommendations.\nUndertake daily production tasks including mine plans, drill and blast plans, survey instructions, inspection documentation, data collection, monitoring, analysis and QAQC.\nActively identify and manage geotechnical risks and develop systems to monitor and manage them.\nCompile and issue QAQC, hazard maps and monitoring reports as required.\nWork collaboratively with Mining, Drill & Blast, Survey, Geology and other Technical Services teams\nRole model our core values and create a culture where every team member feels seen, supported, and valued\nWhat You'll Bring\nCompleted bachelor's degree in Geotechnics, Mining Engineering or Geological Engineering\nDemonstrated geotechnical engineering experience, ideally in an open cut mining environment, preferably hard-rock mining.\nExperience with geotechnical data collection, mapping and monitoring.\nGood written and verbal communication skills.\nFamiliarity with the Rocscience suite, Leapfrog, Deswik and Maptek software.\nWorking knowledge of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations\nAusIMM membership (CP preferred), and a valid driver's licence\nValid, manual drivers licence.\nAbout Gold Fields\nAt Gold Fields, we believe great leadership is grounded in empathy, respect, and growth.
