technology strategy, architecture, engineering organization, roadmap, reliability, delivery, and its impact on the wider business.\nThe Platform powers multiple GoMining products and includes core application infrastructure, authentication and authorization, integrations, shared services, analytics infrastructure, user restrictions, native applications, reliability, and other foundational capabilities.\nThis is not a role where success is measured simply by uptime, delivery, or engineering output.\nWe expect the Engineering Director to understand where technology creates or limits business value, make trade-offs between long-term architecture and immediate commercial priorities, and build a platform that allows the entire company to move faster.\nResponsibilities\nPlatform Strategy & Architecture\nOwn the technology strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the GoMining Platform.\nBuild scalable shared infrastructure used across multiple products and engineering teams.\nDefine which capabilities should be centralized at Platform level and which should remain within individual product teams.\nDrive major architectural and technical decisions.\nIdentify scalability and architectural bottlenecks before they become business-critical.\nBalance long-term platform investments with immediate product and commercial priorities.\nReliability & Engineering Excellence\nOwn platform reliability, availability, latency, scalability, and operational performance.\nDefine and improve SLAs, DORA metrics, engineering performance, and incident-management practices.\nImprove release stability, engineering velocity, and system resilience.\nLead post-incident improvements and eliminate systemic reliability issues.\nMaintain a high engineering bar without unnecessary bureaucracy.\nCore Platform Capabilities\nOwn shared authentication, authorization, registration, and 2FA infrastructure.\nDevelop common account controls, user restrictions, and security mechanisms.\nOwn integrations and shared backend capabilities required across GoMining products.\nDevelop shared analytics and event infrastructure.\nSupport common infrastructure across web and native applications.\nPartner with Product, Design, Security, and engineering teams on cross-company capabilities.\nProduct & Business Impact\nPlatform at GoMining is not an isolated infrastructure function.\nYou will work directly with product leaders, General Managers, and C-level stakeholders to understand where technology can unlock growth and where platform limitations are holding the business back.\nPrioritize engineering initiatives based on technical risk and business impact.\nUnderstand how platform decisions affect revenue, conversion, customer experience, and product velocity.\nIdentify technical changes that can unlock meaningful business results.\nBalance competing priorities across multiple product teams.\nMake clear trade-offs between speed, scalability, reliability, security, and business value.\nMeasure Platform not only through technical metrics, but through how effectively it accelerates the company.\nEngineering Leadership\nLead and develop the Platform engineering organization.\nOwn team structure, hiring, performance, priorities, and execution.\nBuild a culture of strong engineering ownership and accountability.\nStay close enough to architecture and technology to challenge decisions and make informed trade-offs.\nDevelop strong technical leaders within the team.\nRaise the technical and execution bar across the organization.\nAI-First Engineering\nActively use AI tools and agents in your own work.\nIntroduce AI-assisted workflows across engineering, specifications, QA, analytics, and operations.\nIdentify opportunities to automate repetitive engineering work.\nUse AI to increase engineering velocity and quality.\nBuild a team where AI becomes part of the engineering operating model.\nRequirements\nExperience as an Engineering Director, Head of Engineering, Head of Platform, VP Engineering, CTO, or in a comparable senior engineering leadership role.\nStrong technical background and the ability to engage deeply in architecture and engineering decisions.\nExperience building or operating complex platforms, shared services, or infrastructure used by multiple products or engineering teams.\nProven experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex cross-functional initiatives.\nStrong understanding of distributed systems, high-load environments, reliability, scalability, incidents, and security.\nExperience with authentication, authorization, integrations, identity, payments infrastructure, or other shared platform capabilities.\nStrong product and business mindset -
