This individual should enjoy working multiple projects in a fast paced, team centric environment.\nEssential Functions:\n· Responsible for the installation, layout, and maintenance of all network gear.\n· Plan, design, analyze, and provide technical support for GoNetspeed's fiber and copper-based networks.\n· Conduct research and evaluation of new network technology and recommend purchases of network equipment.\n· Responsible for Windows and Linux based back-office systems.\n· Participate in an on-call rotation with other engineers.\n· Assist provisioning and technical support as needed\nRequired Skills:\n· Successful candidates should possess in-depth working knowledge of Calix and Cisco network equipment\n· Intermediate knowledge in routing (BGP, OSPF), switching, and PON related configurations\n· Intermediate knowledge in fiber termination specifications\n· Intermediate knowledge in Unix based scripting and systems management\n· Excellent project management skills, written skills, and communications skills\n· General understanding of PON networks\n· General understanding of DSL networks\n· Intermediate knowledge of outside plant equipment and terminology\n· Intermediate knowledge of Carrier Grade NAT\n· Intermediate knowledge of the building of facilities.
