You’ll work closely with developers and other colleagues to build quality into our applications from the start, identifying issues early, strengthening test coverage and helping us deliver changes with confidence.\n\nYou’ll design and maintain automated tests across web and mobile applications, while supporting functional and non-functional testing. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore new tools and approaches, including AI-assisted testing, to make our testing smarter, faster and more effective.\n\nResponsibilities:\nTest Automation: Design, develop, implement and maintain automated test scripts across our web and mobile applications. \nAPI & Integration Testing: Validate APIs, data flows, business logic and integrations between systems to make sure everything works together as expected. \nAI-Assisted Testing: Use AI-powered tools to support the creation and optimisation of test cases, scripts, test data and automation, while ensuring outputs are accurate and reliable. \nContinuous Testing: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to provide faster feedback and support efficient software delivery. \nQuality & Performance: Contribute to functional and non-functional testing, including performance, reliability, accessibility and resilience. \nCollaboration: Work closely with developers and other stakeholders to investigate issues, identify risks and ensure the right level of test coverage. \nContinuous Improvement: Champion early testing and shift-left practices, helping us continually improve the quality and efficiency of the way we develop and test software. \nWhat you'll need to succeed\nWe’re looking for an analytical and curious Automation Tester who enjoys solving problems and finding better ways of doing things. You’ll be comfortable working collaboratively in an Agile environment, communicating with both technical and non-technical colleagues and taking ownership of testing activities.\n\nYou don’t need to know every tool on our list. We’d love to hear from you.\n\nEssentials:\nProgramming or scripting experience using TypeScript or a similar language. \nExperience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Playwright. \nStrong understanding of functional testing principles and methodologies. \nUnderstanding of non-functional testing, including performance, load, stress and accessibility testing. \nUnderstanding of CI/CD concepts and experience integrating automated tests into delivery pipelines. \nExperience using AI-powered development or testing tools to support test automation and software quality. \nStrong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. \nAbility to identify test scenarios, assess risks and prioritise testing activity. \nConfident communicating defects, test progress, blockers and testing outcomes clearly. \nStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. \nExperience working within an Agile development environment. \nExperience using source control, ideally Git. \nDesirables:\nProgramming or scripting experience using C#. \nExperience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, SpecFlow or equivalent. \nExperience with API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured or equivalent. \nExperience with cross-browser testing tools such as BrowserStack. \nExperience with accessibility tools such as WAVE, NVDA or VoiceOver. \nExperience with performance testing tools such as k6 or JMeter. \nExperience using Azure DevOps or equivalent. \nExperience within the energy industry. \n\nHybrid working explained: When and where you’ll be in the office\n Our office is based in Chippenham, Wiltshire.
