Weddings, galas, festivals... the moments that people remember the most are put on by dozens of small businesses working together behind the scenes to bring that experience to life. These businesses have historically run off of software that doesn't meet their needs, spreadsheets, or even memory.\nGoodshuffle Pro runs the end-to-end operations of event rental companies - invoicing, payment processing, inventory management, and the logistics of getting a warehouse worth of equipment to a venue and back at precisely the right time. Rental companies are one piece of everything that goes into an event, and we're changing how the whole industry operates together.\nSome of us are event nerds, some of us are tech nerds, and some of us are both - but all of us are passionate problem-solvers who care about helping our users succeed. Our values describe how we work:\nSincerely Care - about yourself, about your team, about your work.\nSpeak Up - liberally share knowledge, seek to solve, recognize and appreciate.\nLearn from Everything - listen intently, stay curious. Don't fear failure; fear not learning.\nShow Up - come prepared, execute diligently, honor accountability.\nWhat you'll do\nYou’ll be focused on building technology that powers the events industry, and you’ll own the full lifecycle of your work. Your primary focuses will be to:\nBuild products that people love using. You will get to know the people you're building for. This involves running discovery calls every week, visiting warehouses to see how our customers run their day-to-day, and uncovering the pain that we can solve. You will take problems and own the right way to solve them, instrument and measure the outcome of your work, and propose iterations for the product roadmap.\nOwn the end-to-end build. You will work directly with our founders, Design, Customer Experience, and GTM to shape requirements and navigate ambiguity on your projects. The events industry is fast-paced, detailed, and has little tolerance for mistakes; precision and architecting for scale are key. You’ll manage complex data modeling, migrations, distributed system design, and intuitive UX. \nBuild systems our customers rely on. You will support production systems with the rest of the Engineering team, ensuring that reliability is always our #1 priority. This requires a deep understanding of how our systems, infrastructure, and integrations work. You’ll find ways to automate routine tasks, freeing up more time for the team to focus on innovative work. When something breaks, you trace down the root cause and fix it at the core, ensuring it doesn’t continue happening. \nOperate with an AI-first mentality. You will work alongside a company of builders who are passionate about technology and delivering value. AI is changing daily, and we are changing just as fast. You should be someone who keeps up with the latest and greatest in tech, and brings new opportunities back to your team. AI is not just accelerating development, but every aspect of what we do - everything from product discovery to evaluating success.\nWho you are\nYou care about the details. You write requirements carefully, think through edge cases, and mitigate risk for everything you do. Our customers rely on our products to run their businesses, and getting it right is important to you. \nYou approach your work with curiosity. Your first instinct is to ask questions to learn more. You understand different perspectives, the importance of context, and nuance. Your friends describe you as empathetic and someone who seeks to solve problems. \nYou balance organizational rigor and adaptability. You track your commitments, close open threads, keep documentation current, and flag when things start to slip. When your priorities shift, you adjust plans and keep moving forward, ensuring all relevant parties are aware of the shift. You explain your work clearly to non-engineers, and your manager doesn’t have to consistently follow up with you.\nYou think in systems. You approach problems, both product and process, by understanding how systems interact and influence one another, rather than looking at a single piece of the puzzle.\nQualifications\nMust-Haves\n4+ years experience as a Software Engineer\nA Computer Science degree\nExperience shipping products that people use in their daily lives\nExperience building distributed systems\nExcitement and energy from how fast the field is moving with AI\nStrong Preference for Experience with:\nBuilding SaaS products, especially for small businesses\nBuilding FinTech products\nGrails or Java/Spring\nAngular or React\nRDBMS\nBenefits\nBase salary: $150,000 - $190,000\nFull Health Care (including Dental, Vision, HSA, FSA, LTD, AD&D)\nUnlimited PTO\n401k (with matching)\nCommuter Benefits ($100/mo)\nWFH Flexibility (hybrid, 3 days in-office)\nPassionate, caring, and enthusiastic coworkers (We've been called one of DC's best places to work!)\nTo Apply\nIf you'd like to join us, we recommend reviewing our website and our company values, then applying on our website. We encourage applicants of every race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status and are committed to an environment of equity and inclusion.","description_format":"text","description_chars":5341,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":4,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["401k plan","Equity","Unlimited PTO"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Events & Ticketing"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-24T00:29:51Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":60,"band":"ok","label":"Likely open","p_open":1,"p_active":0.602,"p_room":1,"age_days":1,"expected_fill_days":31,"reasons":["conf:2","stale_co","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-25T05:49:26Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":190000,"is_top_pay":true},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/good-shuffle-software-engineer-iii","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/good-shuffle-software-engineer-iii.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-25T09:21:56Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":13415,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-26T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":673945},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=673945"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fgood-shuffle-software-engineer-iii"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fgood-shuffle-software-engineer-iii"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fgood-shuffle-software-engineer-iii"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/good-shuffle-software-engineer-iii\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fgood-shuffle-software-engineer-iii"}]}
