Responsible for the oversight and supervision of transactional activities including cash reconciliation, billing/accounts receivable and accounts payable. Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger including account analysis and reconciliation of prepaid assets, inventory, fixed assets, and investments, accrued liabilities, leases, and notes payable. Assists the VP Finance in monthly analysis and review of operations, mission, and support departments. Assists the Director of Accounting in the creation of the monthly financial statements, annual budget and forecast.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES\n1. Lead and manage day-to-day operations of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Billing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong team performance.\n2. Develop, implement, and maintain A/P and A/R policies, procedures, KPIs, metrics, and system enhancements.\n3. Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the procure-to-pay process, including automation, standardization, and workflow optimization. Oversee compliance reporting requirements, including sales tax filings, business licenses, and other regulatory submissions.\n4. Oversee the monthly close process, including sub-ledger schedules, accruals, prepaid expenses, reconciliations, and journal entries.\n5. Support monthly financial reporting activities, including variance analysis, management reporting, and ad-hoc analytical needs.\n6. Assist with preparation of audit workpapers and coordinate responses to external auditor requests.\n7. Monitor and strengthen internal controls, identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions to ensure process integrity.\n8. Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships to support accurate financial operations and efficient business processes.\n9. Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff through performance management, goal setting, coaching, and training.\n10. Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and other technical tasks assigned by the CFO or VP of Accounting & Finance.\nQUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED\n* A bachelor s degree in accounting is required with a minimum of 5 7 years work experience in public/private accounting.\n* Minimum of 3 years of experience in supervisory capacity of an Accounting Team.\n* Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.\n* Excellent analytical and team building skills.\n* A positive attitude, team player and process improvement-oriented mindset.\n* Experience required working with an ERP system such as Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.\n* Advanced Microsoft Office skills including strong Microsoft Excel experience and use of pivot tables.
