This is first and foremost a software engineering role, requiring solid engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping reliable software, with AI and agent-based systems as the current focus. The role takes well-scoped problems from design through deployment and iteration, delivering dependable solutions with growing independence.\nReporting to the Director of Engineering, this role works closely with software engineers, architects, business stakeholders, legal teams, data professionals, and technology partners to design, build, test, and maintain scalable AI solutions. The position contributes to the delivery of innovative products and services that advance the firm's use of AI.\nWhat You Will Do:\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain AI-powered applications, automation solutions, and agent-based systems that support business needs.\nCollaborate with business and functional stakeholders to understand workflows, gather requirements, and translate needs into technical solutions.\nDevelop software components and integrations using technologies such as C#/.NET, Python, TypeScript, React, APIs, and related development frameworks.\nConfigure and support AI solutions using Microsoft Azure AI services and related cloud technologies.\nAssist in the implementation of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and agent workflows, using orchestration frameworks such as LangChain/LangGraph, Microsoft Agent Framework, or LlamaIndex.\nWrite unit, integration, and end-to-end tests with tools such as Vitest or Jest, React Testing Library, and Playwright.\nMonitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements to improve functionality and user experience.\nFollow established software development lifecycle (SDLC), change management, security, and operational standards.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation, solution designs, deployment procedures, and support materials.\nCollaborate with Information Security and other stakeholders to support secure, compliant, and responsible use of AI technologies.\nParticipate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices, standards, and team knowledge. \nParticipate in pilot programs, proof-of-concepts, and technology evaluations related to AI and automation.\nStay informed on emerging AI technologies, development practices, and industry trends.\nPerform other duties and special projects as assigned.\n Software development skills using Python, C#, TypeScript, or similar technologies.\nKnowledge of cloud platforms, APIs, databases, and application integrations.\nUnderstanding of AI technologies, including LLMs, agent-based systems, prompt engineering, and RAG.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nDemonstrated accountability, collaboration, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning.\nWho You Are:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nMinimum 2-4 years of professional software development experience.\nExperience building, testing, and supporting web applications in a professional environment.\nProfessional experience with TypeScript or JavaScript and a modern front-end framework, preferably React. Python or C# experience is a plus.\nExposure to AI, machine learning, large language models, or intelligent automation technologies.\nExposure to LLM APIs or AI SDKs.
