This role works closely with senior data engineers and business stakeholders to support the Firm's ongoing data modernization efforts.\nWhat You Will Do:\nBuild, test, and maintain data pipelines and data models using orchestration and transformation tools to move and transform data across source systems, warehouses, and analytics platforms.\nSupport the development and maintenance of ETL/ELT processes, ensuring data is accurate, timely, and reliable; troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues as they arise.\nCollaborate with data engineers and product owners to implement data governance practices: testable code, proper error handling, and rerunnable jobs with monitoring/observability in place.\nContribute to documentation of data pipelines, schemas, and processes to support team knowledge-sharing.\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retros) and use Git for all code changes.\nWho You Are:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.\n2+ years of experience in a data engineering or related technical role.\nStrong SQL skills, including joins, aggregations, CTEs, and window functions.\nExperience with Python for data engineering, scripting, or automation tasks.\nHands-on experience with at least one cloud data platform (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift).\nUnderstanding of core data modeling concepts (fact tables, dimension tables, schema design).\nExperience using Git or similar tools for source control.\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to data accuracy and detail.\nAbility to work both independently and collaboratively across teams.\nExposure to law firm application databases such as Aderant Expert, Foundation, or iManage a plus\nFamiliarity with ETL/ELT tools such as dbt, Airflow or similar transformation /orchestration frameworks\nFamiliarity with AI/LLM technologies as applied to data engineering.\nBenefits and More\nAt Goodwin, you will discover your next career opportunity with a rewarding compensation package and comprehensive benefits, including:\nHealth, dental, and vision insurance\n\nLife and disability insurance\n\nRetirement & Savings Plan\n\nEmergency back-up child and adult care\n\nPaid vacation, sick time off, and holidays\n\nProfessional development and career advancement opportunities\n\nEmployee recognition and reward programs\n\nEmployee wellness and assistance programs\n\nEmployee discounts and perks\n\nThis position is eligible for overtime: NoThe target salary range for this position varies by location and is commensurate with relevant experience: Boston $92,900 -
