The University is seeking to add faculty members who are committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.\n*We are looking for candidates to work from ourEast Hartford, CT location*\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nUnder the supervision of the Director of the School of Nursing, full-time faculty members are responsible for teaching didactic courses as needed. The ideal candidate will have the ability to teach across the curriculum with a preference for any area of specialization in a related field.\nIn addition to teaching, the faculty member is expected to:\nCoordinate, plan, organize, and instruct courses in the day, evening, or on weekends as assigned\nKeep students informed and updated concerning course content, class requirements, and evaluation procedures\nConvey university-related information to students in a timely manner as requested by university officials\nMaintain accurate and complete scholastic records, including attendance records for the first two weeks of each semester\nConduct class evaluations and complete other university evaluations in accordance with university policy\nSubmit grades, incompletes, one to one documentation, and change of grade forms to the Registrar's Office when appropriate\nRecommend textbooks and other instructional materials including classroom and laboratory equipment to Program Director\nInitiate discussions and make recommendations to the Program Director concerning the improvement of teaching, curriculum, and processes related to improving student outcomes\nAttend departmental meetings and participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of program goals and curriculum review based on student learning outcomes\nMake use of available university online resources (Canvas, website, office hour posting, syllabi posting, grade book, Instructional Policy Manual, etc.)\nAttend and participate in all Community Day events at the university\nPursue scholarly activities\nAssist in advising students, curriculum development, and program evaluation \nParticipate in commencement and pinning activities as well as special university meetings.\nParticipation in other university and community service activities that are consistent with the mission\nKnowledge, Ability and Skill:\nDemonstrated commitment to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and work in an environment in which all members of the University community are treated with respect and dignity.\nStrong planning and organizational skills \nWork collegially in a team environment \nAbility to work effectively with diverse populations\nQualifications\nMaster’s degree in nursing, or BSN with intent to complete MSN within 4 years\nCurrent and active RN License in the state of Connecticut (or eligible)\nAt least two years’ experience as a practicing registered nurse\nMinimum of two to three (2-3) years of recent teaching experience in a university nursing program. \nExperience in program and curriculum development\nKnowledge of current trends and practices in the specific field of study\nStrong planning and organizational skills\nWork collegially in a team environment\nAbility to work effectively with diverse populations.\nSpecial Requirements:\nThe PN program runs during both the day and evening.
