Through strong financial analysis and controls, the position helps safeguard the integrity of financial information and supports effective business decisions.\nWhy This Role Matters\nProtects the integrity and reliability of financial reporting by ensuring transactions, reconciliations, accruals, and provisions are complete, accurate, and recorded in the appropriate period.\nStrengthens compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, corporate accounting policies, U.S. GAAP, local GAAP, and applicable regulatory requirements.\nImproves operational efficiency by partnering with Logistics, Purchasing, Treasury, Accounts Payable, and other teams to resolve discrepancies and enhance accounting processes.\nWhat You Will Do\nValidate and accurately record accounting transactions related to import purchases in SONDA and SAP, including reviewing supporting documentation, aging reports, and provisions.\nPerform bank and general ledger account reconciliations, analyze balance sheet accounts, investigate unusual or aged items, and coordinate the timely resolution of discrepancies.\nReview employee travel expenses in Concur, verifying policy compliance, approvals, supporting documentation, expense classifications, accounting entries, and applicable VAT treatment.\nSupport the monthly financial close by reviewing journal entries, accruals, provisions, reconciliations, and account movements, while helping prepare financial reports and variance explanations.\nManage the accounting treatment and amortization of prepaid expenses, advance payments, intangible assets, and deferred charges in accordance with established accounting standards and policies.\nSupport internal and external audits, maintain compliance with accounting and control requirements, and identify opportunities to standardize, automate, and improve accounting processes.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting.\nTwo to three years of experience in accounting or a similar financial role, with knowledge of U.S. GAAP and local accounting standards.\nIntermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience analyzing complex financial data; familiarity with SAP, SONDA, or Concur is beneficial.\nIntermediate English proficiency, strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate accounting matters effectively across functions.\nGoodyear is one of the world's largest tire companies.
