Google.\nResponsibilities\nDrive the development of the virtualization subsystem (VMM, CHV) at Google scale.\nDrive the development of specialized tooling to support engineering practices within the virtualization and systems programming space.\nDesign and implement automation frameworks for build, CI/CD, and qualification testing specifically tailored for Rust-based VMMs and guest isolation layers.\nSupport the delivery of the virtualization layer across millions of production hosts, ensuring compatibility across product lines and hardware configurations.\nBuild out observability framework to provide transparency into VM health and I/O performance, supporting a more data-driven and efficient release process.\nQualifications\nMinimum qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.\n2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures and algorithms.\n2 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.\n2 years of coding experience in C or C++.\nExperience with Operating Systems and Hypervisor.\nPreferred qualifications:\nExperience with virtualization.\nProficiency in algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis and software design or expertise in Unix/Linux systems, IP networking, performance and application issues.\nKnowledge of CI/CD best practices.\nSoftware quality background, and pragmatism to apply it to one of the more complex testing/production qualification
