Data Center Operations Manager, Third Party Data Centers

About the job

Your team will install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware (like servers and its components) and server software (like Google's Linux cluster). They will also take on the configuration of more complex components such as networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches and networking protocols. They may lead small project teams on larger installations and develop project contingency plans.Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $164000 - $237000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits.

Responsibilities

• Communicate priorities team-wide and facilitate management of operations to following shift leads.
• Work together to identify and resolve problems and create solutions for the global computing and network architecture.
• Manage the implementation of projects within the team and ensure data center-related priorities are consistent with company objectives.
• Oversee the day-to-day management of teams within data center technical hardware operations.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware.
• 5 years of experience managing technical, vendor, contract management, or delivery teams.
• Experience in site-level data center operational leadership.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including working weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules as required.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working in data center environments, including building and operating infrastructure, networks, compute architecture, life-cycles, and Linux/Unix system administration.
• Experience developing network architecture.
• Experience initiating and executing initiatives in a global environment.
• Experience leading and managing projects from initiation to completion and directing operations management initiatives.
• Ability to lead and improve environmental health and safety initiatives.
