Facilities Technicians at Google data centers operate, monitor and support physical facilities conditions. Some of these duties will include heating and cooling of air and water, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution and control and monitoring systems. You regularly help inspect, maintain and repair various data center systems such as piping and non-critical electrical or mechanical system components).\nAs an advocate for best practices, you develop creative approaches to reducing operational costs while improving overall data center efficiency. You ensure that environmental and safety standards are consistently met, identifying problems and making repairs quickly. - $200000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits\nLearn more about benefits at Google.\nResponsibilities\nProvide effective leadership for successful critical system troubleshooting, unit commissioning, and repairs or replacements.\nRespond to critical data center events and alarms, acting as a point of escalation for operational issues.\nMonitor plant efficiency (e.g., PUE/WUE) at a data center, acting as an onsite technical lead to drive site-level programs.\nInteract with global engineering teams to investigate, define solutions for, and implement changes to address highly technical challenges.\nWork with design engineers and bring an operational mindset to discussions around new infrastructure and technology.\nQualifications\nMinimum qualifications:\nAssociate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.\n9 years of experience in facilities within a critical environment.\nOperations experience in mission-critical environments (e.g., data centers, power generation, refinery, semiconductor fabrication, or chemical processing).\nExperience with electrical infrastructure systems, generators, and technical troubleshooting.\nExperience with supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and electrical safety.\nPreferred qualifications:\nExperience collaborating with other business units to meet company goals and standards.\nExperience with project management, project planning, and program administration.\nKnowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in a data center environment.\nKnowledge of electrical engineering principles and electrical safety codes.\nEffective people management and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all
