Google Trade Compliance Program Manager

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish - working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

As a member of the SCI Trade Compliance team, you will have primary responsibility for enabling trade compliance regulatory requirements for Korea and Japan. You will need to be located in Seoul, and will collaborate with cross-functional team members to develop, implement, and enable import/export policies and procedures for Korea and Japan. You should have extensive experience in applying international trade principles, concepts, and practices within a global supply chain team. You should also have the ability to interact and influence at all levels throughout a large, geographically dispersed company. You will report to the Trade Compliance Program Manager in Amsterdam.

Responsibilities

• Manage, plan and execute multiple projects and programs critical to Google’s trade compliance enablement. Draft and manage the trade compliance enablement guidance, manuals and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Manage and monitor the regional regulatory changes and publish applicable trade compliance requirements and impact on the business.
• Partner with the business to develop and implement solutions for identified opportunities.
• Partner with trade compliance legal to address any regulatory queries/actions.
• Collaborate with IT on any compliance automation initiative - including requisite testing, change management, and implementation.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience identifying issues in processes and creating solutions, and working with cross-functional teams to manage these changes.
• Experience with South Korea regulations and country-specific import and export trade requirements.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional and geographically dispersed environment.
• Knowledge of Japanese import/export regulations.
• Ability to communicate in Japanese fluently to support client relationship management in this region.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively develop and present information to senior level management.
