Google is an American technology company founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin and now the principal subsidiary of Alphabet, headquartered in Mountain View, California. It operates the world's dominant search engine and the advertising system built around it, along with YouTube, Android, Chrome, Gmail, Maps, Workspace and Google Cloud, reaching billions of users across nearly every internet-connected market. The company designs its own silicon in the Tensor Processing Unit line, develops the Gemini foundation models through Google DeepMind, and derives most of its revenue from advertising while cloud has become its fastest growing segment.

About the job

Security is at the core of Google's design and development process: it is built into the DNA of our products. The same is true of our offices. You're an expert who shares our seriousness about security and our commitment to confidentiality. You'll collaborate with our Facilities Management team to create innovative security strategies, investigate breaches and create risk assessment plans for the future. You believe that providing effective security doesn't come at the expense of customer service - you will be our bodyguard (and our long lost pal).

The Global Security Operations Center is GSRS’s 24/7 ecosystem for intake, triage, management and escalation of physical security incidents and threats.

The GSOC Program Manager serves as the regional operational lead responsible for executing complex, cross-functional programs across people, processes, and technology. Partnering closely with the Senior Program Manager, this role drives regional implementation of global initiatives, optimizes risk mitigation capabilities, and fosters key stakeholder partnerships. By advocating technology innovation, standardizing processes, and tracking operational metrics, the GSOC Program Manager plays a critical role in scaling GSOC capabilities and advancing the broader GSRS mission to protect, sustain, and enable the business.

From keeping Googlers safe and secure to managing disruptive events, the ability to anticipate, deter, detect, and act are the pillars of Google’s Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) team. As a member of GSRS you will help develop a culture where safety, security and resiliency are integrated into every facet of Google, including the creative process. You will help us continually identify, evaluate and monitor enterprise risks that could affect business activities and provide business leaders the information they need to make critical decisions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative strategies and develop programs that drive sustainable effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Support complex and highly cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives to optimize and scale our ability to detect, assess, and mitigate risk.
  • Own the day-to-day relationship with internal cross-functional partners, act as a trusted advisor to manage competing interests. Drive operational excellence across all programs through standardized documentation, processes, and monitoring of key performance indicators.
  • Lead and drive training initiatives at the regional level and identify training gaps or needs to surface for review. Analyze, develop, and strengthen GSOC processes and procedures; guide development and integration.
  • Advocate technology innovation to enhance GSOC capabilities, provide thought leadership that informs future strategy, and actively drive the evolution of the GSOC ecosystem. Align GSOC deliverables where operationally appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the GSOC Senior Program Manager to utilize OKR tracking, operational metrics, and KPIs to standardize and feed performance reporting.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management in an enterprise, cloud, or technology environment.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary program management in an organization.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience implementing security resilience programs impacting teams across multiple regions.
  • Ability to lead projects by navigating priorities, measurable objectives, dependencies, planning, resourcing, scheduling, budgeting, implementation and subsequent monitoring.
  • Ability to identify, build, improve, or optimize relevant business processes.
  • Ability to analyze business objectives and strategies by proactively identifying impactful opportunities or gaps in systems and workflows.
  • High ethical standards with proven ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information; excellent judgment, discretion and diplomacy.
