You will work with Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, Design and Infrastructure Engineers, Field Engineers within Google, as well as construction and telecommunications vendors and contractors, all to position your team and organization for success.\nYou will facilitate faster, better, and more efficient, positive outcomes for the business and our customers. Our metros are on the edge of our network where Google connects to its users. The Network Team is responsible for operating that network reliably and at scale. Our team owns the full life cycle of all space, power, and network assets in all of Google’s data centers and metro points of presence globally. From the foundation, we are involved from site acquisition to construction and are accountable for what space and power is delivered. We're involved in every facet of network delivery from architecture and design to installation, configuration, activation, and commissioning.\nIndividual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.US: $126000 - $180000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits\nLearn more about benefits at Google.\nResponsibilities\nOversee and QA installation technicians for rack, stack and installation of networking equipment.\nCommission and test routers, optical transport equipment, and other network devices in new and existing network nodes across Google's global network.\nGenerate implementation plans and provide technical leadership and guidance during deployment activities.\nCollaborate closely with project management, network engineering and rest of the engineering team to identify in advance potential problems in network installations, including in the areas of facility power (AC/DC), cooling, security/access, rack layout and cable management.\nOwn network documentation, updating and maintaining network drawings and plans.\nQualifications\nMinimum qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.\n3 years of experience in DWDM or TCP/IP or system design operations methodology.\n3 years of experience in carrier-class environments, including Layer 1 physical infrastructure (DWDM, AC/DC power, OSP/ISP) and Layer 2/3 networking (TCP/IP, routing).\nExperience working with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, vendors in telecommunications environment.\nPreferred qualifications:\nExperience in one or more of the following disciplines: Layer 1 optical transmissions systems, layer 3 routing TCP/IP, wireless networking, network design, or operations.\nExperience interpreting and validating deployment packages (including orders and construction specs) to verify design accuracy and escalating discrepancies to engineering partners before installation.\nExperience identifying recurring errors in deployment packages or specifications and driving feedback loops to improve design accuracy and operational efficiency.\nExperience with Linux (e.g., running commands, moving directories).\nFamiliarity with network automation tools, scripting, or SQL to query databases and track deployment consistency.\nFamiliarity with network troubleshooting and testing tools.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3745,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":3,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Equity"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Operating Systems","Streaming & OTT Platforms","Foundation Models","Consumer Internet Groups"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-07T09:12:45Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"GB","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"Licensed UK visa sponsor (Skilled Worker, Senior or Specialist Worker)","filings_12m":null,"filings_prev_12m":null,"green_card_filings_12m":null,"median_offered_wage_usd":null,"route":"Skilled Worker;
