problems.\nResearch, conceive, and develop software applications to extend and improve on Google's product offering.\nContribute to a wide variety of projects utilizing natural language processing, artificial intelligence, data compression, machine learning, and search technologies.\nQualifications\nMinimum qualifications:\nCurrently enrolled in a PhD degree in Computer Science or a related technical field in the EMEA region, and in your penultimate/final year of education.\nExperience in one or more Research areas: Natural Language Understanding/Processing, Computer Vision, LLMs, Algorithmic Foundations of Optimization, Data Mining, Machine Intelligence, AI/ML Algorithms, Deep Learning or Image Processing, multimodal, multilingual and reinforcement learning.\nExperience and profiency in one or more general purpose programming languages: Java, C++, Python, or Go.\nExperience with research from previous internships, full-time industry experience, personal projects, lab work, or published papers (being listed as author).\nPreferred qualifications:\nExperience as a researcher, including internships, full-time, or at a lab.\nExperience contributing to research communities or efforts, including publishing papers in conferences or journals.\nAbility to design and execute on research agendas.\nAbility to complete a 13-17 week full-time internship in Switzerland, France or Germany starting in either May, June or July
