Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. Customers in more than 200 countries and territories turn to Google Cloud as their trusted partner to enable growth and solve their most critical business problems.\nResponsibilities\nConduct comprehensive security assessments to identify systemic architectural vulnerabilities across data center/platform infrastructure and engineer reusable frameworks, automation, or security primitives to mitigate them at scale.\nServe as a Technical Lead (TL) for project workstreams, mentoring junior engineers and guiding team technical strategy across multi-quarter initiatives.\nDevelop solutions and roadmaps to identify areas of risks and to drive remediation, aligning with business objectives.\nDesign and implement security architectures, controls, and processes to enhance the overall security posture.\nReview designs and provide security guidance to improve security of Google data centers and management platforms.\nQualifications\nMinimum qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.\n5 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.\n5 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.\nExperience securing cloud and on-premise infrastructure (e.g., networking, virtualization) and platforms (e.g., OS hardening, containers, and orchestration).\nExperience building, deploying, and using AI/ML-driven approaches for security workflows (e.g., vulnerability identification, risk evaluation, remediation).\nPreferred qualifications:\nExperience consulting product teams on security issues throughout their entire product lifecycle.\nExperience with both offensive and defensive security practices\nExperience with defining engineering roadmaps for attack surface reduction and cyber risk management.\nProven track record of successfully designing, implementing, and managing security projects.
