Within User Protection, the Egregious Harms Protections team is responsible for protecting Google from being used in the most severe harms through end-to-end abuse intervention strategies that keep users safe on and off-platform.\nThe Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.Responsibilities\nDefine service and technical roadmaps for the Egregious Abuse Protection domain. Set the direction for building centralized systems that detect egregious material and identify bad actors across Google’s ecosystem.\nLead the design and review of high-scale distributed infrastructure. Oversee the development of critical components for ingesting signals (Third-party APIs, NGOs, user reports) and building high-fidelity repositories for content identification.\nDrive accountability for code quality, testing, and system operability.
