Google.\nResponsibilities\nOwn and drive the design and implementation of major components across the database stack.\nAnalyze end to end performance of distributed storage and working on short and long term projects to improve it.\nTest and harden product data integrity and proactively identify and improve operation efficiencies by improving process and tool sets.\nParticipate in the operation and maintenance of the database as a service, including troubleshooting and diagnosis of customer and service issues.\nInfluence and shape team's culture and process.\nQualifications\nMinimum qualifications:\nBachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.\n8 years of experience programming in C++.\n\n5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.\n5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.\n3 years of experience with software design and architecture.\nExperience designing or managing PostgreSQL/MySQL/MS SQL Server databases focusing on performance, security, scalability, reliability, high-availability, and disaster recovery.\n\nPreferred qualifications:\nMaster’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.\n8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.\n3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.\n3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.\nExperience in designing and developing large scale distributed systems or relational databases, API, workflow, concurrency, multi-threading and
