Google.\nResponsibilities\nDefine and drive the multi-year technical outlook and architecture for CEP Secure Gateway and the broader Chrome Enterprise portfolio, aligning engineering roadmaps with broader product area and company objectives.\nEstablish technical consensus across divergent viewpoints and lead complex, multi-quarter integrations across partner teams in Chromium, Google Cloud (GCP Networking, IAP, IAM, Cloud Security), Workspace, and Safe Browsing.\nArchitect next-generation, globally distributed proxy infrastructure, customer-dedicated egress routing, and seamless GCP/multi-cloud VPC integrations capable of processing massive enterprise traffic with sub-millisecond latency overhead.\nSet the standard for mission-critical reliability and observability across inline traffic paths-driving strict Service Level Objectives (SLO) governance, hop-by-hop telemetry, and architectural adherence to stringent regulatory compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, DoD IL5, HIPAA, etc.).\nMentor and coach senior engineers and emerging technical leads, elevating design review excellence, architectural decision-making, and engineering execution.\nQualifications\nMinimum qualifications:\nBachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.\n8 years of experience programming in C++.\n\n5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.\n3 years of experience with cloud networking architectures in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or multi-cloud environments (e.g., VPCs, Private Service Connect, Cloud DNS, mTLS, and custom ingress/egress routing).\nPreferred qualifications:\nMaster’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.\n3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.\n3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.\nExperience in one or more domains relevant to Chrome Enterprise, such as zero trust/identity and context-aware access systems, browser internals, or high-compliance cloud infrastructure.\nExperience designing, building, and operating high-throughput, fault-tolerant distributed systems, inline network proxies (e.g. Envoy), or network security platforms.\nProficiency in systems-level programming and concurrency (e.g., C++,
