The individual in this role will be assigned responsibility for employee/union relations, staffing, employee communication, performance management, HRIS administration, and other people initiatives. This position requires previous union/labor relations experience.\nCritical Success Criteria:\nCoach leaders and support performance management activities and initiatives including conducting employee relations and policy violation investigations.\nWork with union officials, management, and employees to resolve problems and concerns related to the collective bargaining agreement. Support labor contract interpretation and negotiations activities.\nParticipate in a variety of talent acquisition activities including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding candidates for hire\nInvolved in initiatives and activities for the entire facility that involve all aspects of human resources including benefits, compensation, training, leave administration, HRIS and employee engagement that drive organizational capabilities, plant operational performance, better safety outcomes, improved levels of employee engagement and increased employee retention.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nEmployee Relations: Act as a primary point of contact for employees and union representatives to address workplace concerns and resolve grievances in accordance with collective bargaining agreements.\nLabor Relations: Support the interpretation and administration of union contracts, assist in collective bargaining negotiations, and ensure compliance with labor laws and agreements.\nRecruitment and Onboarding: Support the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, interviews, and new hire orientation, ensuring alignment with company policies and workforce needs.\nPerformance Management: Partner with managers to facilitate performance reviews, investigations/disciplinary actions, and employee development plans.\nCompliance: Maintain a thorough understanding of federal, state, and local employment and labor laws, ensuring compliance in all HR practices and policies, particularly within a unionized environment.\nTraining and Development: Identify training needs, organize employee development initiatives, and facilitate workshops or programs that align with organizational goals.\nCompensation and Benefits: Assist with payroll and benefits administration, address employee inquiries, and ensure timely resolution of compensation-related matters.\nHR Reporting: Generate and analyze HR metrics and reports, providing data-driven recommendations to management.\nHealth and Safety: Collaborate with the safety team to support workers’ compensation claims and return to work issues, including reasonable accommodation assessments; promote a safe and compliant work environment, ensuring adherence to workplace safety regulations.\nRequirements:\nBachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or related field from accredited College or University\nPrevious work experience in human resources role\nPrevious work experience in labor relations and supporting unionized workforce\nPrevious work experience in or supporting manufacturing or heavy industrial environment\nPrevious work experience in employee relations and conducting investigations\nGeneral understanding of labor laws\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with managers, employees, and union representatives\nExceptional written and verbal communication skills\nDemonstrated problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities\nTechnical proficiency with HRIS systems (preferably UKG) and Microsoft Office Suite\nAbility to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion\nExcellent organizational and time management skills\nConduct work activities on site at the Gopher Resource Tampa facility. Limited opportunities for remote work or work-from-home may be considered.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMaster’s Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related field from accredited College or University preferred, but not required\nPrevious experience with union contracts and collective bargaining processes preferred, but not required\n5+ years of previous work experience in human resources field preferred, but not required\nPrevious work experience in a unionized manufacturing environment preferred, but not required\nPHR and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred, but not required\n\nCompensation & Benefits:\n Salary Range: $88,054 - $140,655. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive plan which is determined by the achievement of strategic objectives.
