You may be contacted by phone by recruitment personnel based in either Canada or New York.\nWork Shift:\nJob Description:\nThis position is responsible for helping maintain the physical integrity of the property and assisting the Manager and maintenance personnel with their responsibilities. This includes maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for our employees and guests. The Maintenance Mechanic assists with all aspects of the property's maintenance including the physical grounds, custodial, supplies and preventive/corrective maintenance.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nFurniture setup and moving\nCleaning/Janitorial - Vacuuming, shower/toilet cleaning, mopping, dusting, bathroom/restroom and break room cleaning\nStoring and replenishing supplies\nPerform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal operating conditions of equipment\nFamiliarity with all facilities and building layouts\nPlumbing - drain cleaning, flush valve maintenance\nElectrical - basic wiring, changing ballasts and /or light bulbs, replace outlets\nLandscaping/grounds maintenance - operation and maintenance of mowing and trimming equipment\nTrimming and raking - prune trees and shrubs, maintenance of landscape beds and mulching\nSnow plowing, shovel, and salt as needed (Geographical)\nProvides back up to the Manager including access control system administration, energy management system adjustments, day to day work of department\nTrains other maintenance personnel (Geographical)\nWorks with Manager on coordinating vendors, suppliers, and renovation projects\nPerforming errands such as mail pick up and drop off\nOther duties as assigned by Manager\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nHigh school diplomaor equivalent\nAt least 1 year experience in Facilities\nValid Driver's License\nAbility to communicate in English\nAbility to drive to work sites and maintain a clean driving record\nAbility to work independently and as a team \nAbility to follow set maintenance schedule (program)\nAbility to work overtime when needed\nKnowledge of hand and power tools\nMechanical skills to maintain equipment\nMechanical aptitude: Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, etc.\nExperience with Lock out/Tag out procedures.\nWritten communication skills\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nADA Physical/Mental/Workplace Requirements\nAble to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds\nAble to stand (75%); walk (20%); stoop, kneel or crouch (5%), as required\nAble to wear safety glasses and foot protection throughout shift\nAble to wear hearing protectors (ear plugs) throughout the shift while working in an environment with moderate noise levels\nGorbel® is an Equal Opportunity Employer that does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, creed, color, religion, alienage or national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, disability or handicap, gender, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, arrest record, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local laws.
