You may be contacted by phone by recruitment personnel based in either Canada or New York.\nWork Shift:\nJob Description:\nWork with Manufacturing Engineer to develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods. Utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts and fabrication processes, design, document and create production aids, jigs and fixtures. Gain knowledge of tooling and production equipment and their capabilities, then assist with maintenance, upgrades or replacement needs. Develop familiarity with assembly methods, lean manufacturing and quality control standards to assist with improvements in assembly areas. Work alongside engineering staff to capture production data, first pass yield, timing and safety results, to implement tools of continuous improvement.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nAnalyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment for maximum efficiency\nDevelop and implement recommendations for tool redesign changes of materials, methods, etc.\nResearch manufacturing trends, new technology and recommends improvements\nInvestigate manufacturing problems and recommends solutions\nFacilitate Lean Manufacturing initiatives in all manufacturing facilities, participate in continuous improvement projects\nInvestigate and prepare requests for capital improvements\nReview Health, Safety and Environmental\nPerform various projects as assigned\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nEnrollment as Engineering or Engineering Technology student\nStrong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills\nGood oral and written communication skills\nExcellent command of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CAD (Solidworks and/or AutoCAD) and other computer program\nAbility to independently move about factory and lift up to 50 pounds\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nADA Physical/Mental/Workplace Requirements\nOccasional lifting up to 25 lbs.\nSitting, working at desk/personal computer for extended periods of time\nPrimary work environment is professional corporate office\nGorbel® is an Equal Opportunity Employer that does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, creed, color, religion, alienage or national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, disability or handicap, gender, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, arrest record, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local laws.
