Throughout the program, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals receiving mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities that will expose you to various aspects of our industry.\nBuild Connections By:\nWorking alongside our Cloud DevOps department team that serves our customers, employees, and partners across North America and Canada. Collaborating with other Gordon Food Service interns and employees in the following areas:\nCommunications\n\nFinance\n\nAccounting\n\nHuman Resources\n\nIT\n\nMarketing & Merchandising\n\nSupply Chain\n\nSales\n\nBuild a Career:\nIn the IT department by:\nAutomation and Scripting: Write and maintain scripts using languages like Python or Bash to automate routine tasks, such as deployments and server provisioning.\n\nInfrastructure Management: Assist in managing our cloud infrastructure on platforms like GCP using Kubernetes. This includes helping with Kubernetes, virtual machine, container management using Docker.\n\nCI/CD Support: Work with our engineering teams to improve our CI/CD pipelines. You’ll help with building new stages, integrating security scanning tools, and ensuring our code gets from development to production efficiently.\n\nMonitoring and Maintenance: Help set up and manage monitoring and alerting systems to track the health and performance of our applications and infrastructure. Work with other team members to resolve any issues identified.\n\nDocumentation: Create and update clear, concise documentation for our processes and tools, making it easier for the entire team to understand and follow best practices.\n\nBuild the Future by:\nBeing an intern at Gordon Food Service, North America's largest family-owned broadline food service distributor and working alongside our department\nAttending unique networking opportunities in and outside the office.\n\nEngaging in our mentorship program\n\nShadowing jobs across the organization to explore your career path potential\n\nParticipating in Gordon Food Services’ community and stewardship efforts\n\nDeveloping personal and professional skills through workshops about communication, LinkedIn, presenting, and more\n\nEmbedding directly with a team that treats AI as a core collaborator.
