There's a seat at our table for you...\nPosition Summary:\nThe Intermediate Software Engineer develops, creates, and modifies high-impact custom procurement and fulfillment applications directly powering nationwide food supply chains. They analyze user needs, design software solutions, modernize legacy service interfaces into scalable cloud integrations and microservices, and embed practical, enterprise-governed AI tools into daily operations to optimize operational efficiency.\nWhat you will do:\nDesign, build, and maintain custom procurement and fulfillment applications.\nModernize legacy interfaces into event-driven GCP microservices and SAP BTP integrations.\nEmbed practical AI tools, LLM APIs, and automated workflows into daily operations.\nDevelop programs or scripts in Java (Spring Boot) and Python following established standards.\nPerform automated unit, integration, and system testing for optimal performance.\nAnalyze business systems, determine scope, and estimate tasks for issue resolution.\nTroubleshoot, perform tier-3 monitoring, and resolve program or system failures.\nParticipate in scheduled 24/7 tier-3 production on-call support rotations.\nFacilitate code reviews, participate in agile ceremonies, and align with business partners.\nOther duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nWhen you will work:\nMonday to Friday, 8am to 5pm\nHybrid schedule: 4 days in office in Wyoming, MI or Atlanta, GA with 1 day remote\nWhat you'll bring to the table:\nEducation: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).\nExperience Level: 3 to 5 years of professional full-lifecycle software engineering and backend development experience.\nCore Technical Foundations: Solid understanding of object-oriented design, RESTful API architecture, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle SQL.\nCloud & Infrastructure Familiarity: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP or AWS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and enterprise messaging architectures.\nDomain & AI Tooling Background: Exposure to supply chain/procurement domain workflows, CI/CD automation, or practical LLM/RAG integration frameworks.\nCommunication & Problem-Solving: Strong written and verbal communication skills paired with solid organizational and analytical capabilities.\nWork Style: Proven ability to prioritize, multi-task, and operate effectively both independently and as a collaborative team member.\nBE PART OF AN AMAZING CULTURE WHERE WHAT MATTERS TO YOU, MATTERS TO US!\nGordon Food Service values our customers and understands that their success is largely dependent upon their workforce.
