Everyone is highly valued and plays a vital role in the growth of our organization.\nPosition Summary\nThe Operations Director is responsible for leading and coordinating key operational functions of the manufacturing facility, including Production Planning, Supply Chain, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), and Infrastructure/Construction Engineering.\nThis position plays a critical role in ensuring production readiness, material availability, operational continuity, regulatory compliance, facility development, and cross-functional execution.\nThe Operations Director will work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Finance, Human Resources, and other functional leaders to support safe, efficient, and scalable operations of the Chicago manufacturing facility.\nKey Responsibilities\nProduction Planning & Operations Coordination\nLead production planning and scheduling based on demand, capacity, materials, and priorities.\nDevelop and manage short- and long-term production plans.\nCoordinate manpower, equipment, and materials to achieve production targets.\nMonitor plan execution and identify delivery risks.\nDrive cross-functional efforts to resolve production and operational constraints.\nTrack key KPIs, including production attainment, inventory, material availability, delivery, and efficiency.\nSupport S&OP and capacity planning processes.\nSupply Chain Management\nLead plant supply chain operations, including production planning, materials, procurement, inventory, warehousing, and logistics.\nEnsure material availability while maintaining optimal inventory levels.\nImprove inventory turnover and reduce excess and obsolete stock.\nDrive supplier performance and supply continuity.\nIdentify supply chain risks and implement contingency plans.\nManage domestic and international logistics activities.\nLead continuous improvement in cost, efficiency, and delivery performance.\n Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)\nLead the plant’s EHS programs and team to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.\nPromote a strong safety culture and drive workplace safety initiatives.\nOversee inspections, risk assessments, corrective actions, and emergency preparedness.\nMonitor EHS performance and implement corrective actions as needed.\nPartner with cross-functional teams to improve safety and compliance.\nSupport regulatory audits, inspections, and permitting activities.\nInfrastructure & Construction Engineering\nLead facility engineering, infrastructure, and construction projects supporting plant operations.\nOversee plant expansion, renovations, and infrastructure improvements.\nManage contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.\nEnsure projects meet scope, budget, schedule, quality, and safety requirements.\nMaintain critical facility systems, utilities, and infrastructure readiness.\nSupport production line installation, commissioning, and facility startup activities.\nOperational Excellence & Cross-Functional Management\nEstablish and manage operational processes across planning, supply chain, EHS, and infrastructure.\nLead operational reviews and drive action item completion.\nIdentify and escalate operational risks to plant leadership.\nImplement continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, cost, delivery, inventory, and efficiency.\nDrive KPI-based decision-making and operational visibility.\nSupport ERP/MRP and digitalization initiatives.\nFoster collaboration across Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Finance, HR, and IT.\nTeam Leadership\nLead, develop, and mentor managers and operational teams.\nEstablish organizational structure, goals, and succession plans.\nRecruit, develop, and retain key talent.\nDrive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.\nFoster a collaborative, safety-focused, high-performance culture.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field required.\nMaster's degree or MBA preferred.\n10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, supply chain, production planning, engineering, or related functions.\n5+ years of leadership experience managing managers and/or multiple operational functions.\nStrong experience in large-scale manufacturing environments.\nDemonstrated experience in production planning, supply chain management, and plant operations.\nWorking knowledge of EHS management and U.S. regulatory requirements.\nExperience supporting facility construction, plant expansion, infrastructure, or manufacturing engineering projects strongly preferred.\nStrong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems;
