Everyone is highly valued and plays a vital role in the growth of our organization.\nPosition Summary\nGotion is seeking a highly motivated Structural Engineer to support the design, analysis, and execution of structural engineering projects for advanced battery manufacturing facilities, energy storage systems, and related industrial infrastructure. This role will be responsible for ensuring structural integrity, code compliance, and constructability across new construction, equipment foundations, facility modifications, and expansion projects.\nThe ideal candidate has experience designing steel and concrete structures within industrial, manufacturing, or large-scale commercial environments and enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering, construction, and operations teams throughout the project lifecycle.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nDesign, analyze, and review structural systems for manufacturing facilities, laboratories, warehouses, office buildings, and utility infrastructure.\nPerform structural calculations for steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and foundation systems in accordance with applicable building codes and engineering standards.\nDevelop engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and calculation packages for new construction and facility modifications.\nCoordinate structural requirements with civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and process engineering teams.\nReview vendor drawings, shop drawings, and contractor submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications.\nSupport the design and installation of equipment foundations, mezzanines, platforms, pipe racks, supports, and other industrial structures.\nConduct field inspections and site assessments to verify existing conditions and support construction activities.\nProvide engineering support during construction, including responding to RFIs, reviewing field changes, and resolving structural issues.\nEnsure projects comply with International Building Code (IBC), ASCE, AISC, ACI, OSHA, California Building Code (CBC), and other applicable standards.\nCollaborate with project managers to support scheduling, budgeting, and project execution.\nAssist in value engineering initiatives to improve constructability and reduce project costs.\nParticipate in root cause investigations related to structural deficiencies or construction issues.\nMaintain engineering documentation, calculations, and revision control throughout project execution.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives for engineering standards and design practices.\nQualifications\nRequired\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.\n5+ years of structural engineering experience.\nExperience designing industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, energy, or large commercial facilities.\nStrong knowledge of structural steel, reinforced concrete, foundations, seismic design, and load analysis.\nProficiency with structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, RISA-3D, STAAD.Pro, or similar.\nExperience with AutoCAD and familiarity with Revit.\nKnowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, AISC Steel Manual, ACI 318, OSHA, and applicable engineering standards.\nAbility to review construction documents, calculations, and contractor submittals.\nExcellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.\nPreferred\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure.\nMaster's degree in Structural Engineering.\nExperience supporting manufacturing plant construction or battery manufacturing facilities.\nExperience with seismic design in California.\nFamiliarity with BIM coordination and multidisciplinary project environments.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nStrong structural analysis and engineering problem-solving abilities.\nAbility to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously.\nExcellent attention to detail and documentation skills.\nStrong understanding of construction methods and sequencing.\nAbility to work effectively in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and building codes.\nCollaborative mindset with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.\nPreferred Software\nSAP2000\nETABS\nRISA-3D\nSTAAD.Pro\nAutoCAD\nRevit\nBluebeam\nMicrosoft Office Suite\nWhy Join Gotion?\nAt Gotion, you'll help build the next generation of battery manufacturing and energy storage solutions that power a more sustainable future.
