Lecturer/ Snr Lecturer (Brand Experience Motion Design) – Sch of Design & Media

[What the role is]

[What you will be working on]

• Design, develop and deliver lectures, tutorials, studio-based lessons, workshops and asynchronous learning in areas such as motion branding, motion graphics, visual storytelling, kinetic typography, digital contentand brand experience design.
• Develop, review and enhance curriculum, learning resources and assessment strategies to align with programme learning outcomes, industry standards, and evolving needs of the creative industry.
• Provide mentorship to students on academic performance, portfolio and showreeldevelopment, industry opportunities, internships, competitions, further studies and career pathways.
• Lead and facilitate industry-integrated learning and initiatives, including live briefs, client projects, campaign-based competitions, collaborative productions and industry partnerships.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with creative agencies, production studios, technology partners,professional bodies and creative networks to strengthen industry relevance, create opportunities for student engagement, and support curriculum development and graduate employability.
• Contribute to research, innovation and capability development in emerging motion design practices and technologies, including real-time content creation, immersive media, generative AI and other digital tools for creative practice and education.
• Assist school and programme management and administration, including programme coordination, academic documentation, quality assurance, compliance, outreach and other school-wide initiatives.
• Support the development and delivery of Continuing Education and Training (CET) or adult learning programmes, particularly in motion branding, digital storytelling and multi-channel brand content, through industry-relevant learning content and professional upskilling initiatives.

[What we are looking for]

• Relevant qualifications with at least five (5) years of professional experience in motion design, motion graphics, brand experience design, visual communication or related creative field.
• Experience in a leading creative or 4A agency, motion design studio, production house, brand consultancy, digital content company or multinational brand environment will be an advantage.
• Strong command of motion design principles, visual storytelling, typography, colour, composition and art direction, with a solid understanding of graphic design, 3D visualisation, video production and post-production.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain high visual standards across digital, physical and experiential brand touchpoints.
• Practical knowledge of industry-standard design and production tools, such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, Cinema 4D, Blender, Figma and other relevant other relevant digital, prototyping, motion or content creation platforms.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
• Prior experience in teaching or mentoring at tertiary or adult-learning level is advantageous.
