In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the future of our Contamination Assessment & Remediation service line through the coordination and implementation of a wide range of environmental solutions and projects. This role will be based in Midland, Texas.\nWorking with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:\nResearch, design, plan, and perform engineering duties in the prevention, control, and remediation of environmental hazards using various engineering disciplines. Work may include waste treatment, site remediation, or pollution control technology.\nResponsibilities\nEngineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.\nHealth, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace. Identify patterns of risky behavior within the team and take appropriate action to resolve them, escalating serious issues as appropriate.\nWaste Management: Lead waste projects or supervise area of the organization, ensuring adherence to regulations and effective reduction, segregation, and disposal of waste.\nTechnical Troubleshooting: Support technical troubleshooting efforts, aiding in the quick and accurate identification, analysis, and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments.\nTechnical Developments Recommendation: Research and suggest technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users’ needs.\nEngineering Drawings: Create engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.\nData Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.\nProject Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.\nTesting: Use product specifications to design test procedures and standards.\nResearch: Carry out a range of research activities either to support others or to fulfill the requirements of the role.\nPersonal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.\nClient & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.\nPreparation of technical correspondence, project proposals, reports, work plans, and project specifications\nCoordinate and implement project permitting\nInterpretation/evaluation of environmental regulations\nData compilation, reduction, and interpretation\nUnderstanding of remediation, remediation methods, and operations and maintenance requirements\nPE or PG in Texas or New Mexico will be highly regarded\n3-8 years of experience in environmental consulting including environmental permitting & compliance, remediation & design, site assessments, report writing, data management & interpretation and project coordination\nExperience in coordinating and simultaneously managing multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail in a consulting environment is preferred\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independently\nStrong working knowledge of NMOCD and NM SLO rules and regulations as it relates to assessment and remediation\nAbility work in a fast-paced environment\nOSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification a plus\nElectrical systems and remediation system operation and maintenance\nAbility and willingness to travel to undertake field work is required\nEducation\nBachelor's Degree and/or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field\nExperience\n13 months to 3 years\nTake on some of the world’s toughest challenges - with everyone at GHD backing you every step of the way.\nWe'll give you control over your career, empower you to find innovative solutions and help you create a lasting impact.\nSee where your commitment could take you with GHD.\nAs a multicultural organization, we encourage individual achievement and recognize the strength of a diverse workforce.
