Our team is growing fast in Ontario, striving to create lasting value for our clients by creating and delivering solutions to complex transportation infrastructure problems.\nCandidates’ career path:\nThis role is intended for an upcoming Project Manager interested in the advancement of their career leading highway design projects. The role will provide exposure to and opportunities for growth in greater project leadership, business development, staff management, and operations management. The candidate will collaborate across our transportation, environmental, water, and properties and buildings markets to deliver projects for our clients, leveraging the broader strengths of GHD’s teams.\nWorking with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:\nSuccessful leadership delivering highway design projects for MTO and similar clients as a Project Manager and/or Assistant Project Manager. \nApplying your expertise using a variety of transportation solutions to help our clients, including preliminary design, detail design and contract package delivery, green infrastructure strategies, application of the Environmental Assessment process, intersection and interchange design, digital delivery, integrated transportation technology/ITS solutions, highway and bridge rehabilitation and expansion strategies, and roundabout design.\nDriving high quality results, client satisfaction, and strong financial performance to support the growth of our transportation portfolio.\nTaking ownership for all aspects of the management of projects from proposal to close-out, including managing teams, sub-consultants, budgets, schedule, quality, safety, and client satisfaction. \nProviding technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff. \nTeamwork in small and large teams. Owning the integration with other engineering disciplines, engineers, and design staff in the production of high-quality project deliverables. \nManaging staff including performance, workload, and supporting their technical and professional development.\nPromoting best practices and leadership in transportation projects. \nSupporting Business Development including capture planning and leading proposals. \nContribute to the development and execution of the business development strategy for relevant clients, including enhancing client relationships, identifying opportunities, creating capture plans and leading proposals. \nWhat you will bring to the Team:\nPost-secondary degree in Civil Engineering \nOntario P.Eng. designation required \n5-10 years' experience in design and engineering of transportation infrastructure projects, including project management experience. \nExcellent written and oral communication skills, including strong organization and leadership abilities. \nExperience working with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation. \nExperience working with other highway agencies and municipal transportation clients would be an asset. \nProven ability to coordinate and motivate multidisciplinary engineering teams.\nExperience managing design projects in collaborative models (e.g. Progressive Design-Build, Alliance, CMGC) would be an asset.\nExcellent written and oral communication skills. \nProven track record to develop, mentor, and lead professional technical staff. \nAbility to lead multiple projects and work effectively within a collaborative team environment.\nPlease note:\nThe salary range for this position is $79,000 - $129,000. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for GHD locations in its major city centres. Ranges may vary for positions in other locations.
