The ideal candidate will assist the Production Supervisor by executing daily production plans in the Tower Dryer department.\n\nYour Impact\nMeet and exceed production and delivery schedules, budgets and targets\nDirect and promote a work environment of continuous improvement through proactive process improvement programs.\nPromote a team environment through effective communication and delegation. \nProactively engage the support of indirect support personnel to achieve departmental and business objectives.\nTo foster an environment of learning through effective cross training of assigned employees. \nExpected to develop and maintain required relationships with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Human Resources, Engineering, Production Control, Shipping, and other areas as required meeting targeted business goals and objectives. Maintain an effective relationship with Purchasing to affect positive supplier/vendor relationships. \nSafety investigation 5 why's\nCoaching\nEnsure Skill Training Matrixes are in place, train new hires and manage training\nEmployee/ situation investigation\nStandard work documentation\nExecute daily, weekly, monthly, schedule/ plan/schedule attainment\nMeet daily cell goals (5s, Safety, Quality, Maintain hourly production boards)\nDaily start up checks\nDaily Departmental KPI's\n100% time on the production floor\nDepartmental communication\nCell communication process/toolbox /shift changeover reports/handoffs/ensure smooth transition\nCycle counts\nInventory accuracy/adjustments\nImpulse management\nFirst and last piece audits for each operator\nIPQ cell scrap reporting\n5 Why’s and Prompt Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)\nImplement all aspects of GPT/GSI Lean and Quality Management systems.\nComply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures\nReport any unsafe practices and/or conditions to their supervisor.\nWear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and report any defective PPE.\nReport all near-misses, incidents, injuries, illnesses, including mobile equipment or property damage.\nParticipation in the Safety and Health Program.\nOther responsibilities as assigned.\n\nYour Experience and Qualifications\nHS Diploma or demonstrated experience, post HS education highly desirable but experience and learned knowledge may be substituted and considered in place of formal education.\nStrong leader and excellent communicator\n2+ years of progressive responsibility or related experience preferred in a manufacturing environment. \nSolid grasp of manufacturing concepts, methods, and manufacturing techniques to include but not limited to: Assembly, welding, machining, painting, and other related manufacturing methods.\nPrior experience in lean, flow-through manufacturing a plus. \nKnowledge in use of SAP or other related ERP application software preferred.\nMust be computer literate, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus, and ERP Systems.\nBasic understanding of production planning and production control functions.\nExceptional influence and communication skills with ability to communicate at all management levels.\nDemonstrated ability to think conceptually with a real commitment to change and continuous improvement.\nAbility to collaborate cross-functionally to develop improved manufacturing strategies that will support GSI business objectives on a departmental and building wide basis.\nAbility to listen and clearly communicate both verbally & in written format.\nAttention to detail.\nAbility to analyze data and develop strategic recommendations. \nMust be capable of understanding all technical issues related to assigned products.\nThe ability to work independently on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.\nOpen minded, natural curiosity, and customer, market and product oriented. \nAchievement/result oriented, consistent, and good organizational skills.\n\nYour Benefits/Compensation \nExpected compensation for this role will range between $27.38 - $34.53 per hour.
